Don't know, depends on your luck. Based on the ones I have, I have not seen a slew of Horace Parlan's floating around. I picked up Us Three and On the Spur of the Moment for about $15 a piece back in 1990 (not really knowing who Horace was at the time) and took a chance. On the Spur...is now one of my favs.

Lee Konitz-Unaccompanied Live in Yokohama-October 24th 1996-Modern Music (Japan) Anyone no more details about this one? Can't seem to find a listing for it.

Don't recall if this one's been mentioned, but The Max Roach Trio featuring the Legendary Hasaan is definitely worth listening to. Quite frankly, Hasaan went in the background as soon as I started listening to what Roach was doing, which sounded like gestural splashes of improvised drumming that I've never quite heard like this before, and certainly not like anything I've heard Roach do on the other disks I have. For example, the track "Almost Like Me" finds Roach playing in between, through, behind and in front of Hasaan, if that makes any non-musician's sense. It floored me the first time I heard it. I could just listen to that kind of playing solo any day.

Yeah World B3, your avatar is exactly what's on my mind. Lawrence of Newark was not what I was expecting from 1973 Larry Young; this album is WAY heavier than his BN's! Those first two tracks, Sunshine Fly Away and Khalid of Space Part Two-Welcome (with Juni Booth laying down some thick bass) were mindblowing.

I really dig Lift Every Voice; its one of Hill's most interesting experiements. Now albeit, I don't play it as often as Compulsion! or Andrew! but I certainly wouldn't ignore it because of the voices. In fact, I can't imagine this record without the voices. Give it a few more listens, then decide whether you dig it or not.

Yes, it was a Conn about 10 years ago or so and its been OOP for roughly about the same time.

Yes, I would, especially at that price; I usually like those Columbia Brubeck records. And Columbia six eyes LPs are finely made and have wonderful sound. This Tommy Turrentine album is a gem. It is a fine hard bop session. I picked up the Turrentine and the Brubecks today. All disks are in great shape and one is still factory sealed in the plastic inner sleeve (there is a perferated top that you tear along) so in essence, its a mint, sealed Columbia 6 eye!. The sleeves are all in excellent shape, with no splitting, or ring-wear, just a strange, square-like tear on the back of two of them. Otherwise these albums were well-taken care of. All three for the tidy some of $12. Man, I love Half Price!

They are still pushing the dud. Not surprised. The last major recall that I can remember was the defective Dialogue disk...and they were pretty quick to address and resolve that issue.

So I take it to be somewhat of a gem? Man, I'll buy it just for the album cover. There's no date on it, so I can't tell what issue it is, but based on the inner sleeve, which is this old crumbly wax paper, it seems to be an original issue.

Ok, no vinyl expert (and no turntable for that matter) but how rare is the Tommy Turrentine record on Time? There's an excellent copy (very clean vinyl, no splits or ring wear on the jacket) I have on hold at Half Price for $4. Also, there's a slew of Brubeck 6 eyes there two, and one is still actually sealed in the plastic bag (Eurasia I think) and one I never heard of (the Riddle w/ Bill Smith). These are $4 too. Take the plunge?

Still on the cooler side, with lots of rain and highs sticking around 65 degrees...now that's my kind of weather!
