  1. RIP, Fathead.
  2. I hope David finds a kidney soon! Thought are with him as well.
  3. You're right. I bought this used and the dude that previously owned it had two booklets; one that was defective, which he wrote 'error', and the other one ' corrected'. Guess I missed the recall notice . So what is it exactly that I'm missing then ? Funny you should ask. I bought this used at a store from some guy who was clearly OCD. When I looked inside the sleeve, the dude held on to both books, one was fine and the other he wrote in small letters on the back "bad printing". No idea where or what he meant because there's no indication of what's wrong. The colors and print looks the same so I have to guess that there's something wrong with the punctuation or grammar.
  4. Must be nice
  5. Single digits for the last few days with it being -8 degrees early this morning. Its so cold that there's constant tiny flakes floating around in the air and it took nearly a half hour to defrost my car!
  6. I do, along with what you think about the music.
  7. My favorite Threadgill album
  8. Has anyone actually got a disc 6 that isn't defective? I recently ordered one of the boxes released in the UK and it seems to have the distortion described at the revenant website. It's possible that I'm hearing something different to the fault described but that seems unlikely. I've tried emailing both Revenant and ESP but to no avail. Thanks Denis Anyone? How about those who have bought it recently? Thanks Denis Bought the set when it first came out and listened to it all eventually. I don't recall there being a problem with any of the discs.
  9. What eveyone else has said
  10. Too lazy to look, but I think Sam Rivers' Crystals should qualify. Turns out that its one of my favorite Rivers sessions!
  11. Wish I had a turntable...again
  12. You're right. I bought this used and the dude that previously owned it had two booklets; one that was defective, which he wrote 'error', and the other one ' corrected'.
  13. I can asnwer #2 as some discussion about these CD-Rs has been had here. I posted pictures here. Wow, thanks so much for those pics and link. There seems to be very few differences between the cdr's and the real deal. But overall, they look quite convincing.
  14. Well remember that one from the sixties! Wish I'd held on to a copy (or two!) And the music is terrific!
  15. Arctic blast has brought temps down to the single digits and now more snow's on the way.
  16. Thanks!
  17. Dunkin' Doughnuts French Vanilla coffee-I can't believe how good their coffee is!
  18. That's got to be one of the coolest Strata East covers I've ever seen! Take that its not available on cd? Here's another one designed like that: Cecil Payne - Zodiac Nice! This Dolphy Series...any more info on it? There seems to be at least four of them.
  19. I also noticed on that list that they have titles there that are currently available as RVG's like JR Moterose, Hill's Smokestack and Here Comes Louis Smith among others. Why would they make those available at a higher price than the RVG's? Saw they had Hill's Eternal Spirit available as a CDR. Wouldn't it make far better sense to not offer the currently available Smokestack and make the far rarer But Not Farewell available again?
  20. A couple of questions: One: does anyone know if these are allowed to be sold on the "used" market at Amazon or Ebay and will they be correctly identified there as CD-R's? Two: if anyone has one of these Blue Note CD-R's, would they be willing to scan the cover, tray card and cd, to see what they look like? Thanks in advance! HG
  21. Red Rodney-Fiery-Savoy Freddie Redd-Shades of Redd-BN Conn (at least on the Conn the entire Blue Note label on the cover is intact)
  22. That's got to be one of the coolest Strata East covers I've ever seen! Take that its not available on cd?
  23. Enjoyed a bottle of Principato Rosso at the Olive Garden tonight.
