  1. Time to start camping out, day and night, by the mailbox. I'm so grateful for this set. I've read about these sessions for years and always hoped this would be released.
  2. Yes! That would be a good one. I actually have my copy here (not in storage).
  3. At least you could get her to the show...
  4. Welcome to the board, Kreilly! Thanks for the link. I actually appreciate Sim's point of view in that piece. It sounds like he stayed true to himself.
  5. Ok.... I can't help myself; I just see his name and I have to say it... 'Git-R-Done!!!' All-righty then... Wow! Larry the Cable Guy is being quoted on the Big-O.
  6. We were really into Wesley Willis at my old office about 5 years ago. We would play clips of "Rock N' Roll McDonalds" etc... all the time. We loved to talk like him and quote him. That is until, the entire crew went to see him play live. It was at this tiny place and they hung out with him. He was bumping their foreheads and stuff. The next day all the guys came into work and they seemed to be a bit disturbed. I think the reality of his state really got to all of them and nobody played the Wesley Willis music anymore. It wasn't funny anymore, it was just sad. I guess I'm glad I didn't go to the show.
  7. Does this work like the Price is Right? I'll bid $1 Bob. AfricaBrass, COME ON DOWN!!!!
  8. This site looks like it might have a lot of info: http://internet-fraud.com/internet-fraud/
  9. Here's a link to a page I just found about these scams: Scam info
  10. I spend time on guitar message boards and almost every seller (it seems like) gets offers like this.
  11. SCAM! This is that classic Nigerian scam. You see it everywhere now. The money order will be BAD. Don't do it. Also, these people are bad news, so I wouldn't mess around, just say "no thanks" and move on.
  12. I'll wait until I get my set, maybe Cat Shatner will be on a new avatar.
  13. I'll do that. I DIG Tal Farlow.
  14. I missed that one. I dig those Condon-ites!
  15. I've looked the auction items... WOW! To quote a young Indiana Jones, "These belong in museum." If I was RICH, I'd start a jazz museum with this stuff. WOW!
  16. Deaf musicians? The idea of being deaf and being a musician is amazing to me. I can't even imagine the talent it must take. How about people who play like they're deaf? Kenny G Boney James Candy Dulfer The Koz
  17. I always thought this track was influenced by hashish or something potent like that. I have a Smile bootleg that has the full version of "Our Prayer" - After the beautiful singing, they break down into stoned laughter. It's amazing they could sing so well while totally loaded. I haven't smoked anything in a decade, but I sure sucked as a musician when I did (I thought I was great, though). I agree with Jack, it was probably just a common influence. Smiley Smile was recorded in mid-67 and Zappa had already done Doo-Wop type stuff. I know Smiley Smile, Wild Honey, Friends are slagged-off by some, but I think they're great albums.
  18. My wife was going to buy me a Mosaic Select for Valentine's Day, so I ended up ordering this instead on Monday. Thanks for the heads-up Ron!
  19. There's a terrific garbage dump located near my city... If they have printed these up, maybe they could just sell them on the BN website. A good idea but La Roca would probably pitch a fit about that too. Since I don't know the whole story, I'm not going to come down on Sims. I'll save all my venom for Dubya. It's his war. He broke it, he bought it.
  20. I'm nuts for the exotica stuff. Martin Denny, Les Baxter, etc... I love the Jackie Gleason albums. Years ago, I used to frequent thrift stores, and because of that I have a great collection of easy listening records from the fifties. One of my favorite albums is Eden's Island by Eden Ahbez (the composer of Nature Boy). I guess you could say I was bit by the lounge bug in the 90's. There were a couple books I really enjoyed about this stuff back then. They were ReSearch's Incredibly Strange Music Volumes 1 and 2.
