I picked up both on vinyl early last year, and didn't care for them on the first few listens. I'll have to spin "Spaceball" again and see if it still hits my ears the same.

I know Axelrod for his later funky instrumentals, the stuff has been sampled to death. I'll have to pick up the Land, Hope, and Rosolino. One of my favorites is the album he produced with Funk, Inc.

Since I arrived here mostly clueless about jazz (and still not far from clueless compared to some), everyone here and the BNBB has been exceedingly helpful in advising my jazz collecting. The extensive to-buy list I have compiled from reading posts here now makes me feel as if every time I buy a jazz album, it will be a great one. I dig the enthusiasm for this artform we all love, the cool personalities and friendly atmostphere, the sheer depth of jazz knowledge of many of the most prolific posters, the endless political bickering, the sexy album covers thread...I like the whole shebang more than any one poster could distract so much as to ruin my experience.
