The Shaq to Phoenix deal definitely took some of the excitement out of Gasol coming to LA. Shaq ain't 40, and I'm convinced he will get back in shape and do another of his "resurgences." I'd hate to see the Suns raise a banner, but I think it's very possible now.

Marion's contract is up and all accounts have him opting out and becoming a free agent after this season. He was pushing for a trade in the offseason and there were talks of swapping him for Lamar Odom, but the Suns didn't want to trade him within the conference. It will be interesting to see how Shaq responds to being on a team as good as Phoenix. Honestly, I'm worried about a motivated Shaq. Gasol with 24 points and 12 rebounds in his Laker debut. Best Laker debut by the numbers since Magic Johnson.

I dig the Kashmere Stage Band, I've got one of their LPs and several loose tracks on compilations. Definitely a funky ensemble. RIP, Conrad Johnson.

I remember Paxton in Commando! He's also in Terminator, at the very beginning, along with that goony-looking dude with the crazy jawbone who had a role on the X-Files.

I like the original Terminator better than T2. Although I watch it as a comedy, Commando is a favorite action movie. The first Predator is just plain great, all the way around. The first Lethal Weapon for good cheesey action. Gary Busey! The first Die Hard, of course. The first and third Indiana Jones movies. The second one, wtf? The Fugitive wasn't bad. Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon is one of my favorite movies, period. With subtitles, of course. I hate the dubbed-in English version. Hero and House Of Flying Daggers weren't too shabby either. Dirty Harry and tons of Eastwood westerns. Heat, except I hate the end. Tombstone I love how Bill Paxton is still Chet from Weird Science in Aliens. Full Metal Jacket=action movie, Catesta? I'm with you on 48 Hours, Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte are both great in that. Aliens is an action movie, Alien is more of a horror/drama, imo.
