  1. I had the parachute pants, and I pop-locked in them. My windmills were legendary.
  2. That tie's got nothing on Penny's, ca. 1975
  3. My family prefers to chop down a living tree, hang plastic doo-dads all over it, and watch it die slowly in the living room.
  4. I know what your intentions were, Alexander. My post was more directed at the two mouth-breathers in the picture you posted. "Some trophy, fellas. It's a harmless rodent."
  5. Nipping at my heels! The rest of the regular season will be tougher to pick as teams play for "pride" and teams who have the playoffs locked up decide to mail it in.
  6. That giant swamp rodent might be the wimpiest thing I've ever seen gunned down. It's a calm critter that munches plants and doesn't bother to run from a person ten feet away (I just watched footage of Jeff Corwin chilling with a capybara a few hours ago). Look at those proud hunters!
  7. What Ray said. 32Jazz and Label M reissued what have become some of my favorite albums. RIP Joel Dorn, and thank you.
  8. I like it, Free--but I even dig her as far back as the Sugarcubes. She's always got interesting music behind her. None have equalled Post for my tastes, but Bjork consistently rewards with clever music and lyrics.
  9. As a baseball fan who watches highlights, I do not believe that the defense was ever any better or worse nor do I believe the game has suffered due to steroid use. There's incredible plays on Sportscenter day in, day out during baseball season. The stats will back this up, the best infielders have ungodly high fielding percentages and go months without an error. There still great sluggers who hit for average and who are not shot up with steroids. Once the steroid problem is curtailed, the game will endure. There's more substance to it than this scandal can destroy. No need to throw the baby out with the bathwater.
  10. I have the Numark TTUSB, it works for me. But then, I don't have a great stereo to listen to music on and generally listen to songs I transferred from vinyl on my iPod. I have noticed the transfer quality, while clean, isn't as loud as tracks from CDs.
  11. Happy Birthday JSngry!
  12. No doubt fine recommendations by your tastes, edc--but if Man With The Golden Arm's daughter is like my niece, it won't wave a stick at what she and her friends are listening to on pop radio. They want their own tunes to identify with. If it isn't being drilled into her head four times a day by the radio station she likes, she isn't going to like it.
  13. From what I've read of the criticisms of this report, it would have been wise to shed all of the hearsay and go with only the hard facts. Who wrote checks, who bought what from whom. Too many names thrown in merely from conversations.
  14. Apparently the list which I posted earlier was wrong. I'll delete my post and others can delete the posts quoting it if they like.
  15. Hey, I did say "unconfirmed," and so did Abbey. He got the list from SOSH.
  16. Watch Earl blast a defender into the endzone from the five... Oilers highlights...
  17. False list deleted.
  18. WEEK 15 Thursday HOU Saturday CIN Sunday NO TB BAL CLE GB PIT NE TEN IND SD DAL NYG Monday MIN 42pts
  19. RIP Ike. Thanks for the music.
  20. I'm somewhere between Cliff Clavin and Jimmy Walker, without being quite as funny as either one.
  21. Use the Jedi mind trick and pretend you enjoy the music your daughter is listening to. I've tried hipping my nieces to tunes that I dig, and JSngry's right--they don't want to like what I like. I'm old and not cool.
  22. Why aren't the Raiders playing Jamarcus? Get him in the game, you knuckleheads.
  23. Happy Birthday!
