  1. All the best to the man who never misses the good live jazz shows!
  2. Final score: Denver 34, Chicago 37. Clearly 14 points didn't factor into the outcome.
  3. I have an NFL VHS called "See How They Run" that has a segment on Sayers. It also features the "Three Blind Mice" song being played in the background during highlights.
  4. Damn, must have been joyriders. One wouldn't expect a car thief to have good taste. I'm glad your ride came back unscathed!
  5. Devin Hester = best kick returner...ever?
  6. I was at the Oregon/UCLA game on Saturday. My brother and his friends did their usual great tailgating barbeque. One friend had one of those hunter's duck callers, and was making pathetic duck noises through it at Oregon fans as they walked past, then yelling "wounded Ducks, wounded Ducks!" Even they got a laugh out of it. Hideous game, amazingly the Dixon-less Ducks played worse offense than the Bruins. A win's a win! Next year my brother and his friends vowed to cook duck for the Oregon game. Incredible to think the Bruins could be in the Rose Bowl with a win over the Trojans and a Sun Devils loss. A win over USC this year is more improbable than last year, but I imagine the Trojans will pummel the Bruins by three or four touchdowns.
  7. ...and looking the other way on defenders holding Moss!
  8. I found it odd that the Iggles' defense looked so tough and the Pats' so soft. AJ Feeley looked really good for a long stretch. Brady was pressured often, and threw more bad passes than I've seen all year. It's funny that defending that Pats well is holding them to 31 points...
  9. Which one is Keb?
  10. Happy Birthday DTMX!
  11. David Koresh Jim Jones The Hawaiian Punch Pitcher
  12. Happy Thanksgiving to organissimo and everyone! Groovin' to this tune now!
  13. It reminds me of disgusting drawings I used to do with my art class friends when I was in high school. We would "battle" with "torture chamber" drawings, fictional scenarios we were sending each other through. I'd draw my friend going down a razor blade slide into a pool of lemon juice full of sharks, and he'd respond by drawing a Noj character being pulverized by pistons and doused with tobasco, that sort of thing. Lots of blood and dismemberment. Good clean fun!
  14. I must say I laughed out loud at Aloc's avatar the first time I saw it. It's a drawing, for Pete's sake. That clip of the German kid freaking out is so classic. I loved the one which used subtitles to change it into a Cleveland Indians fan freaking out about the Boston Red Sox.
  15. Jon Abbey posted this hilarious bit over at JC...
  16. "Jon, we're going to have to ask your friend to leave." "Look, I know he made a pass at Mom and clogged the toilet beyond repair, but he's really a good guy. Give him a chance." "We're not worried about those little things, it's the TROMBONE! We can't take it!"
  17. Yeah, that might be a tad awkward. On second thought, I'll FedEx you a plate.
  18. C'mon over, Free!
  19. Gotta love a holiday where one eats a great meal in mass quantities. Mom will be baking up a massive turkey loaded with stuffing, green beans, broccoli cheese casserole, my Grandma's red wine salad, mashed potatoes and gravy, deviled eggs...man, I can't wait. My brother's girlfriend is bringing some mushrooms stuffed with bacon and other goodies. Pumpkin pie, apple pie... I have much to be thankful for, including all the friends I've made here at this great forum. Happy Thanksgiving! Hmmm, this all seems strangely familiar...
  20. It's been a three way dogfight all season, another weird Sunday like Week 10 could change the standings in a hurry.
  21. Methinks it's overkill on the meats.
  22. Congratulations, jazzypaul and jazzypaulettes!
  23. In a close game, it makes sense to take the 3 points and make sure you don't come up empty (depending on the amount of time left in the game, of course). In a complete blowout, it makes more sense to just go for it since the consequences of a turnover on downs are so much less. If nothing else it's good practice for the offense to build confidence that they can convert on 4th down. I don't see anything wrong with kicking the crap out of an opponent and rubbing their collective nose in it.
  24. What Big Al said! I wonder if I'll be able to catch this on TV. Roughriders, 40 points.
  25. What good does a field goal do when up 4+ touchdowns? May as well go for six as turn the ball over on downs. No reason to not be confident in getting a first down, the defense hadn't earned that level of respect. Run the score up and prevent the opposition from having any chance of a miracle comeback. As much as I hate the Pats, if they were my team I'd like the victory guaranteed by thoroughly stomping opponents.
