  1. If you want to sell or trade it, I think you have to tell us how wonderful is this CD...
  2. I think this should be moved to the Miscellaneous forum....
  3. Marilyn Monroe died exactly 44 years ago.
  4. Updates Already sold: Toshiko Akiyoshi & Lew Tabackin Big Band- Kogun. Sonny Rollins- Freedom Suite. David S. Ware- Flight of I. Buddy Rich And Harry "Sweets" Edison- Buddy and Sweets. Charlie Haden and Pat Metheny- Beyond the Missouri Sky.
  5. In the attached file you will find a short list of CDs I want to sell. All CDs are in a very good condition except of a small hole on the back cover of David S. Ware and a small saw cut on the back cover of Oblique. The only CD I could not find an informative link is Art Tatum Concert. There are two sessions (from 1939 & 1943) which are (IMHO) among his best solo recordings. Shipping is free and paypal accepted.
  6. All the best, Lon !!!
  7. Tune No. 7 on this CD is called *Telavivision* and Joanne Brackeen wrote it after visiting my home town (Tel Aviv).
  8. Time is running fast and Joanne Brackeen is already 68. I like her playing style and specialy when she plays Brazilian music. She first made a solid connection with Brazilian music when she played with Stan Getz between 1975-1977. Her recordings with Getz on SteepleChase are very recommended. This evening I'll listen to this one: BTW: Eddie Gomez is doing here a perfect job. Happy birthday Joanne and all the best.
  9. Good timing with this and the follow up thread. Got a one day only 15% coupon from The Jazz Loft, so as I haven't been buying enough music lately I ordered this set. I had been looking for more Lacy & Waldron, and this one looks like it will fit the bill. 4 CDs in this set and all 4 are great. This is my favorite duet recording in my collection.
  10. Albert Ayler: Witches & Devils.
  11. I can imagine he is sitting right now with Mal Waldron somewhere in the sky and they are playing together some Monk's compositions. I think I'll go to listen to this album:
  12. I was wondering what is the correct pronunciation of Renee Rosnes. I found this on wikipedia: Her first name's pronunciation is a derivative of Irene ("ree-nee"), rather than the common pronunciation of Renee (i.e. not as "re-nay").
  13. B. Goren.

    Renee Rosnes

Any opinion on this one??? A trio recording with Lewis Nash & Peter Washington.
  14. My condolences, Kevin. I've lost my father 27 years ago and as time goes by I miss him more and more.
  15. Yes, you can see her ugly soul there! Yes Agustín, I always knew you understand me...
  16. Happy birthday to you! I always enjoy reading your posts.
  17. RIP Mr. Thompson.
  18. In June 2000 I had the pleasure to see Charlie Haden. I was in NYC and he played in the Battery Park together with Ornette Coleman and Billy Higgins. Only Don Cherry was missing there. I think it was one of Higgins' last live performances before his health started to rapidly deteriorate.
  19. Thanks Tony. I really appreciate your concern.
  20. Charlie Haden is one of my most favorite bassist in the jazz history. I think nobody will be surprised if I'll tell you that I prefer his earlier recordings, even as a sideman, over the later ones. His recordings with Ornette Coleman and with Keith Jarrett can't be compared to Beyond The Missouri Sky for example or to The Art of the Song. Among his recordings as a leader, The Montreal Tapes and the several duets he recorded are my favorite. During the last week I found the time (as you can imagine, between one news report to another...) to listen to all of his Montreal Tapes recordings and I would like to know which one of these recordings is your favorite. My vote goes to Geri Allen & Paul Motian.
