  3. One of my favorite cello players is Erik Friedlander, and specially when plays with Myra Melford.

  5. Thanks for the images Mark. I'll take this opportunity to wish Mr. Payne good health and all the best.
  6. What a great baritone player Cecil Payne is!!! I think he can stand in the same line with Pepper Adams, Mulligan, Serge Chaloff and some other great names of the jazz history. His recordings for Delmark are among my favorite recordings of the 90's. BTW: He sounds great also on flute. Another good reason to listen to his Delmark recordings is the great Harold Mabern who's doing a perfect job. Even Eric Alexander who never was my favorite tenor player sounds good when he plays with Payne. Any other Payne's fans here???

  17. This is what I've been enjoying lately: Leffe brown & Leffe blond.
  18. You should also try to pick up the 2 "Eminent Jay Jay" CDs on Blue Note: These recordings are a bit earlier than those on the Mosaic set, and also include some great sidemen, including Clifford Brown. I agree with Ron. In addition, everything he recorded with Kai Winding is also recommended. This is a good strat:
