I have a special and unexplained weakness to Caravan.

My friend Barak Weiss (White Lightening) had the opportunity to interview Lateef and I'll ask him to reply to this thread and to add the link to the interview.

Last week Lateef played in Tel-Aviv together with the French players- Stephan and Lionel Belmondo. Lateef is 86 but he is in a very good shape and still sounds great. This was the first time for to see Lateef and of course it was a memorable experience.

The session Andrew Hill recorded with Henderson and Hubbard was part of the OOP Mosaic set and this is something every Hill fan must have in his collection.

You are not the only one tranemonk. In general, I tend to agree with you. But if the Mosaic set is the only Rich material you are familiar with, I think you should listen to some of his big band recordings. Try the Pacific Jazz sessions. I believe you will enjoy it. This one is great:

This CD arrived yesterday: Billy Harper sounds great.

The above mentioned set arrived today by mail. This is not my first JSP set, but this is my first set which does not include any discography… I've sent an e-mail message to JSP and within 5 minutes I got this reply:

I have never been a great fan of Shimon Peres, but since he invited Sharon Stone for a visit, I think I have to reconsider my position.... She is amazing !!!!

Does anybody know what is Mosaic's explanation for not including these two classics sessions in this box??? not big band dates Ten players (MB&TAT) is not exactly a small combo….

In the attached file you will find a short list of CDs I want to sell. All CDs are in a very good condition except of a small hole on the back cover of David S. Ware CDs. The only CD I could not find an informative link is Art Tatum Concert. The CD contains two sessions (from 1939 & 1943) which are (IMHO) among his best solo recordings. Shipping is free and paypal accepted.

Toshiko Akiyoshi is also recommended.
