  1. I'm getting some weird SQL message when either accessing the forum link directly or when selectig the the main forum page via the "breadcrumbs" on top... only the way couw mentioned worked for me.... Looks like the forum structure doesn't get displayed but the posts are... Cheers, Tjobbe
  2. my vote goes to Gil as I love his music but I miss one of my favourites... where is Quincey J. ????
  3. @deus: the last BN I bought was the Van Morrison via UK as they offered the "oversea's version"... what I got was a Canadian CD which had the Copy Protected Label printed as wellas a nice green inlet saying that EMI wanted to thank me for buying (and not copying) this record.. as said.. my last blue note buy Cheers, Tjobbe
  4. and the Supa Groovers can tell you how to get there (recognize that I do not do this for a simple increase of my post count )
  5. Hi ubu, about the Concords: up to now it was easier to get them direclty from the US as the german disributor Inak started just recently with bring some of them into the market. Check here for available records. Currently only the SACD La Onda va bien is registered there. on the Verve's: I have the "Soul-ones" and can recommend them all Cheers, Tjobbe EDIT: not sure who's distributing the concords in Switzerland, as there is/was also some distribution in Austria available
  6. that sound promising Kevin !
  7. in the contest of the "best football nations team" only those can participate who have played the last world championship John, very very sorry but those are the rules
  8. yes Tjazz, EMI protects all the records against selling... at least selling them to me Cheers, Tjobbe
  9. fully agree with your comments but I believe that I ican trust both Claude's and Hans' ear so far to get some gut feeling to judge where to "upgrade" and where not. For those records I currently do not have one versioin like the Wynton Kelly I Iwll possibly go for the SACD in any case. ( or otherway round...l I would not have bought the Wes Montgomery from last batch...) Cheers&thx so far, Tjobbe
  10. Deus and the absolute truth:
  11. The Tjader-Getz album is highly recommended. It's superb Getz with great Tjader and marvellous Guaraldi. no further comment needed... buy now !!!!
  12. oh man.. you really want me to choose ? I'm a doorbell fan let me say it that way: the one I like most is clearly Gary Burton although I would not put him in as 60's best, but rather in later period. I love his play on ECM specially with Chick Corea (as the Zurich concert is one of my favorites) but when it comes to 60's only, I would not count him in, or if .. on third place On '60 my personal favorite is Milt Jackson due to the variaty of his playing and he managed to stay on top for a long time even before or after the 60's. I personally can recommend any record in my selection that see Bags as either leader or strong contributor. Second nominee would be Cal Tjader as his feeling for rhythm is what I like best in his play. I sometimes have the feeling that he's little bit underrated by the "hardcore-jazz fans" Cheers, Tjobbe
  13. Thanks Claude for the short review... as those three where mainly the same that I had on my short list (The Pepper would be my third version ) The Wynton Kelly is on my list for the SACD's... Cheers, Tjobbe
  14. pretty much different then on 2-5
  15. this cake will be definately too small for 99 candles.....
  16. what I really like to know is: will couw find any images for gods 99th birthday ... ( previews are highly welcome)
  17. for disc2-track5 : has anybody thrown Allan Holdsworth into the ring ???
  18. can recommend the Carnegie remaster too.... , but I'm also into his 80's stuff he did (although the variation in terms of inspiration is a little bit to high)... got some of his Concords and Telarcs -specially his family stuff- with his various of his sons which have some great moments for me... Cheers, Tjobbe
