  1. I would have -as I was 2h earlier than you my friend - but also no response so far.....
  2. downloaded Von Freeman - Fire as new addition recently.... Cheers, Tjobbe
  3. one label just added its repertoire to the US-only emusic listners. (some tracks of some records are somewhat not available to me, although I have all of them anyway on disc) Austrian Quinton label with artist like W.Muthspiel, A. Shilkoper, W. Puschnig, Linda Sharrock etc...all 19 albums are available for downloading although missing the great art work. Cheers, Tjobbe
  4. Amazon.de reduced the pre-order price to 75€ recently for those who are interested..... Cheers, Tjobbe BTW: not easy to find there as they filled it under Olivier Nelson
  5. let me phrase it differently: you can easily identify the "Bad ones" when you read Remastered 200x at ZYX studios..by using Apogee PSX100 and by the article number starting OJC20_/OJC24_ Cheers, Tjobbe
  6. for those interested in the european release of the Oliver Nelson Mosaic and who do not want to wait what ever it takes 2001 to list it in their catalogue Amazon UK has listed the Mosaic now for 62GBP delivered mid June and Amazon DE for 83€ delivered end of may. JPC wants to sell for unreasonable 160€ Cheers, Tjobbe
  7. Austrain Wolfgang Muthspiel's new trio record Bright Side (not quite as good as the previous Trio with Blade and Johnson on Quinton records but still nice interplay) Cheers, Tjobbe
  8. three more Abdullah Ibrahims and one Charlie Mariano added yesterday....guess they will issue them as downloads bit by bit If the jazz catalog is expanded with those great labels, I guess I need to upgrade from the basic plan. Cheers, Tjobbe
  9. downloaded three Graham Collier records recently....great stuff, great BigBand arrangements. - Darius - Song for my farther - Midnight blue Cheers, Tjobbe
  10. Hi Mike, have that box since a few days as you know and the sound is good and compared to the Simone Colpix recordings I would rate it as even extremely good. The sound is very "analog", very few distortions and instruments are well defined. Hope that helps, Oliver P.S. there is one on Andorra Gambit of the first two sessions that I'm as well looking into but have not yet decided to buy it
  11. mhh, honestly no. The only DVD-A's I have are the Donald Fagen's and the two Chicago ones as well as the Sintra at the Sands where the 2CH is fine but the 5.1 sound somewhat lame... Compared to 60+ SA-CD's that's not that much. Cheers, Tjobbe
  12. my taste and my "gut feeling" for music hasn't changed that much. ...BUT this board has "forced" me to broaden the spectrum and be more adventureous in what I'm buying as well as its a trusted sources of good advise for things to checkout that you would never ever had access to. When I recall how complicated it was in the early Vinyl days to get things from outside even German market...and the prices: ouch : Now with online shopping in US, UK, France and Japan.. you get what ever you want, quickly and reasonably priced I'm not spending that more money omn Media in total but shifted it to more focus buyings and without that board I guess I would never bought any of those Mosaic boxes...well I now have some of them Cheers, Tjobbe
  13. just checked out some this month Candid records with one nice entry that I already downloaded. Seems more and more good Jazz stuff for download beside the Fantasy catalogue appear on emusic. Cheers, Tjobbe EDIT: some interesting stuff found: 10 recordings from Graham Collier available for downloading.
  14. ....and in Germany on sale for 6€ at www.jpc.de as emusic does not allow downloading them outside US. Cheers, Tjobbe
  15. if you look at the new entries you will find four albums of the german Enja Label added. One of them being a 1978 Chet Baker concert, the other Bennie Wallace, Abdullah Ibrahim and Rabih Abou-Khalil. Cheers, Tjobbe
  16. Thanks Jim for bring up the board again so quickly....and yes, Dentists are BAD Cheers, Tjobbe
  17. you can be shure that they have some more ZYX stuff hidden for the next Merkheft expected in July that will stress your budget but I will try get my CC a break now, promised @mike: do you believe in the "Osterhase" and the "Weihnachtsmann"
  18. just recognized another nice Amazon UK feature: the shipment via AirMail has arrived at my office with one day after they stated the despatch of it !
  19. sorry to put some "non Jazz" on the board here but being an Amazon UK costumer now, they send me some link to the brand new Moody Blues SA-CD's where at least I'm interested in that Threshold of a dream. The two single SA-CD's are at 9 and the three double SA-CD's are at 11£....maybe some is interested in those as well when ordering some of the boxes. Cheers, Tjobbe
  20. The Simone is at 15Pounds + S&H for three items of less than 4€, so its roughtly 22€ for the Simone box. As I was thinking about buying one or two from the individual CD's only, there was no question to immeadialy press the "put into shopping basket" button for the complete 4CD box set. As soon as I hold it in my hands...I'll let you know about it Mike. Cheers, Tjobbe EDIT: S&H at Amazon.uk is very cheap as they rated the Box set as a single CD rather so all in all that's uncompeteable. As said: the VAT Amazon UK adds is not that of UK rate but the German one ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ordered Title Price Dispatched Subtotal ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1 The George & Ira Gershwin Son £19.72 1 £19.72 1 Four Women: the Nina Simone P £14.78 1 £14.78 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subtotal: £29.74 Delivery Charge: £2.27 Total tax: £5.12 Total: £37.13 This completes your order.
  21. good approach, I can only recommend to follow .. but having to many of the individual Coltrane Impulse recordings that would have been an overkill so I skipped them. my Ella's and the Simone have been shipped already. Cheers, Tjobbe
  22. That one is fantastic. Highly recommended at the price ! I feared that ...and now those bastards just reduce the price for the Getz again to below 9 Pounds....they want me to exeed my Credit Card limit Cheers, Tjobbe P.S. I believe there is some truth behind the Verve C.E.O. Thread...
  23. just for completeness: there are two more Verve box set's (but hidden somehow) Stan Getz - The Bossa Nova Years: The Girl From Ipanema for 11£ Antonio Carlos Jobim - The Man from Ipanema for 14£ Cheers, Tjobbe
