  1. Who buys vinyl with scratches on it, I wonder? Anyway thanks, I might put it up on ebay and see what the response is like You'd be amazed how much whipped rare records go for.
  2. Yeah, I might take the plunge on that. Thanks for the reminder.
  3. Originals of In Action regularly sell for $1500-$2000 in good nick.
  4. Oh right. No, I'm not. Helping a friend spread the word.
  5. Hi everybody. Looks like it's time to give the distribution arm a rest. In particular, there is pressing need to devote more time & resources to the Rev. Charlie Jackson retrospective, as well as other initiatives. So here's a sale, during which there is free U.S. shipping on ALL orders that include the 2nd Rev. Charlie Jackson live LP, Lord You're So Good. For international shipments, that offer is good for $5 off. The sale ends Friday, May 24. Sorry, no long holds. Allowances are gladly made for those of you who reliably pay via check. Go to 50 Miles of Elbow Room sale titles here. (Friend's Distro)
  6. The $102 LP was a VSOP pressing, I believe.
  7. Keith Tippett and Louis Moholo-Moholo?
  8. Can't figure out whether the original was a deep groove pressing or not. No mention of that tidbit in any archived auctions.
  9. Reel is done. I have Deep Down Heavy on LP - clean copy acquired years ago for a fair price from "Da Bastids." It's a good one.
  10. It's excellent. Features JR as the only horn and the trio of drummer Joe Abodeely, pianist Dale Oehler and bassist Gary Allen - all based in the Quad Cities at the time. Monterose had a stand at the Tender Trap in Cedar Rapids for almost a year, I believe, in 1964 - Chuck probably knows more about this.
  11. I'll be happy to see Francois Tusques again - it's been years.
  12. I have some crappy non-Fresh Sound LP (semi-recent) of "The Message" and would like to get something that sounds better. Might this be it? The original is a bit out of my price range... The Japanese heavy-vinyl LP of "In Action" that I've got is a nice, legitimate repressing - sounds great and musically wonderful.
  13. Dauner's Free Action is a great record; I have it on a Saba LP. But Dream Talk is certainly impressive. Thanks for the reminder on the Manusardi - I have it on 10" LP, it's excellent. I always thought it was sort of George Russell-ish but it's been awhile since it was spun, maybe I'd have a different reaction to it now.
  14. Congrats - as someone who just relocated and is back on the job hunt, I can relate very well to the search-and-stitch. So glad it worked out for you!
  15. Sounds wild! It is - and not too easy to find.
  16. Working on oral histories of construction workers and electricians - tradesmen - rules.

  17. Wow, sounds great. For whatever reason I've never seen Pharoah in concert, though his music has been a part of my life for quite a while.
  18. Bill Fay - Time of the Last Persecution - (4 Men w/ Beards reish, sounds phenomenal) now: The Battered Ornaments - Mantle-Piece - (Harvest, US pressing)
  19. Globe Unity '75 - und Jettzt die Sportschau - (Trost) It's great.
  20. Judy Henske & Jerry Yester - Farewell Aldebaran - (Straight)
  21. Wow, €250! What's so special about this LP and the one the OP is after, other than that they were apparently non-commercial releases in limited editions? And no cover on this one either - d'oh! What's special? Rare and good... that's all.
