  1. Sure thing, glad it arrived safely!
  2. Thanks for the tip!
  3. And it was a second pressing with no NY 23 on the label!
  4. Not a typo... I remember when this Dizzy Reece LP was a $500 record and that wasn't more than a few years ago...
  5. $35 gets the remaining ESP CDs - Bird, Lowe, Ra (all sealed). And that is shipped w/in the US.
  6. "Sweet Georgia Brown" is lengthy, too - a shame to miss it!
  7. Bump for some late additions.
  8. Indeed. Prince talked about putting them out on CD with extra material in the year or so before he passed. Sadly, never happened. I know someone who is trying to get the Birdseye LPs reissued properly but we'll see if it happens.
  9. Budgie - Never Turn Your Back on a Friend - (MCA UK orig)

  13. Damn. RIP.
  14. I interviewed him earlier this year and it was quite interesting - I wrote a short article on him for the NYC Jazz Record and had hoped to have the full transcript up this summer with his blessing. Time got away from me and now he's gone. I'm not sure whether to go ahead and try to publish the text or not.
  15. That film is really nice. Agreed about the group with Shipp BUT the new disc w/ Cooper-Moore, Parker & Muhammad Ali is incredible.
  16. Yeah, that particular comments thread is ridiculous.
  17. This is terrible news.
  18. yeah, no shit - would love to go!
  19. Why are you calling me out? What is your aggression towards me? I can't spend ALL my time on the o-board. Anyway: If it is being run as a club, it's a club. The behavior is out of control and I know the victim personally.
  20. Haha... I take it as good-natured ribbing.
  21. Without buying the DVD, I'd like to find out who was playing the week of 1/8/77. I bet there was some serious Alphabet City punk going on...
  22. IIRC, the (Of Chicago) was put on flyers for an early gig in France and the name stuck. The Nessas were licensed from Pathe - there's a thread about this somewhere around here.
  23. Rashied Ali - Quintet - (Survival) Rashied Ali - New Directions in Modern Music - (Survival)
  24. It's still working on my old blog post about it. Looks like it was on DailyMotion rather than YouTube.
