  1. Tomasz Stanko - Twet - (Muza)
  2. Ken McIntyre & Eric Dolphy - Looking Ahead - (New Jazz DG orig)
  3. The fact that I'm on this board at 3 PM on a Saturday should tell you something.
  4. Not having a TV helps my avoidance of shows I might otherwise get into watching. Zach Braff - from his few films - is insufferable to me.
  5. Dexter Gordon & Sonny Grey - Parisian Concert - (Futura)
  6. Wow. I know his name and feel like I must have a representation of his playing on SOMETHING. I'll have to dig thru the collection. Thanks for the reminder, and sorry he's having such a tough time.
  7. Yeah, my sister went last night and loved it. My girlfriend and I will try to go once it stops selling out.
  8. Yeah, Kolhase is a fine, fine player. Seen him w/ Duck Baker and also Tchicai.
  9. Dang. Hope it all turns out okay.
  10. Also, I saw Lancaster with Ed Crockett, another bassist, and Harold E. Smith on drums a few years back. It was really good.
  11. Oh yeah, forgot about those Eyges records. They're not very good.
  12. Buy that Turrentine and then send it to me! Heh..
  13. He's on those Doug Hammond LPs on IDIBIB, Folks and Spaces. I had some private-label CDs/CD-Rs that Byard had sent me, can't find them right now, that were from the late 90s. Live at Macalester and Funny Funky are from the 1970s, as is half of Personal Testimony.
  14. No drums as well as no piano.
  15. Will have to check out that Allan Chase disc. John McNeil "East Coast Cool" and Joe Morris' Bass Quartet are two other pianoless quartet discs he appears on. Though two basses make it a quintet, Charles Tyler's Nessa date is also excellent (and finally back in print). Some piano-less quartet music also makes it onto the Braxton Arista Mosaic. Frank Lowe had a great band with Earl Cross, Didier Levallet and George Brown that recorded for Palm and Marge - some of this material is available on CD. Also the early David Murray stuff with Olu Dara is very, very nice. Though Osborne's heaviest work was in a trio, this quartet is pretty nice stuff. Also, here's a fine archival date from Bobby Bradford (w/ James Newton; you'll have to scroll down). Some out of print gems that hopefully make their way back into regular circulation: Ric Colbeck - The Sun Is Coming Up - (Fontana) New York Art Quartet - Mohawk - (Fontana) Steve Lacy - Sortie - (GTA) Ted Curson - Tears for Dolphy - (Fontana, w/ Bill Barron) Ted Curson - Urge - (Fontana, w/ Booker Ervin) Alan Shorter - Orgasm - (Verve) Bill Dixon/Archie Shepp - Quartet - (Savoy)
  16. Margot Kidder Kate Bosworth The Boz
  17. Irene Schweizer - Wilde Senoritas - (FMP) Ovary Lodge - s/t - (RCA-Victor UK original)
  18. Per Henrik Wallin - One Knife is Enough - (Caprice)
  19. Joseph Spence, John Roberts, Frederic McQueen - Bahamanian Folk Guitar - (Folkways)
  20. Bump: $10 gets the remaining three discs.
  21. Ugh. SS1, you KNOW you can do better than that.
  22. I think I've only seen one copy of the Fontana offered on eBay ever. At least to my recollection.
  23. Cool, so Groovy! = Dedication (far more common).
