  1. I think that Workout might be my top of the three, though Roll Call has some really bitchin' Bu. I agree that SS has a similar vibe to Quiet Kenny, a laid-back but highly nuanced session, though it's certainly not the first Hank I reach for. I do enjoy Hank with a front line partner and some fires stoked as well. By the same token, I enjoy the somewhat ragged company he kept with Donald Byrd and Doug Watkins on those Transition records (in terms of the "spirit" of the dates). I guess I need to get Dippin', huh?
  2. This was a good box dug out of storage: Jemeel Moondoc/Muntu - First Feeding - (Muntu) w/ Wm. Parker, Art Williams, Rashid Bakr, and Mark Hennen on piano.
  3. That is kind of a ridiculous "bonus." I'd prefer some sea monkeys.
  4. I've got most of those on OJC CD, Prestige LP or in one case, Jubilee vinyl. I guess if Concord isn't doing their end justice and the Jubilee/Ad Lib catalog is in the hands of Fresh Sound, well...
  5. Still looking for that Michael Cosmic private LP... Other things come and go, but I've NEVER seen that offered.
  6. Wow! Sad news, and so young.
  7. And, curiously, with Paul Bley and Jimmy Giuffre in the late '70s.
  8. You know, his property in Lawrence, KS bordered a friend's backyard. Even after he died, apparently the "caretaker/archivist" still had people over to, you know, shoot things off of peoples' heads and eat pizza.
  9. For a second, I thought this was a thread about the band Pitchblende.
  10. It's been reissued on CD by Porter Records. A vinyl reissue is planned. I have the Porter CD - wonder if they'll do the Jeanne Lee as well?
  11. Yes, that's the bottom line. Good luck! Thanks! Yeah, I may have to have the Salt Lick ship me some good eats!
  12. I have a black-label Riverside stereo in VG++ condition and will have to settle for that... sounds good though!
  13. Wow, I mean it's really not fair of me to dis on other people who can't defend themselves here, but the ridiculousness and ignorance is pretty rampant on that Hoffman thread. So AP has somebody named "Chewy" working for them?
  14. You know, I still have problems with mine, esp. in Safari. So there you go.
  15. Would anybody like to post links to these particular SH threads? I'd be curious to read them...
  16. That Birigwa is a really, really nice record.
  17. Seconded. Thanks for giving this the "Rooster Bump."
  18. Another one dug out of storage: Cleve Pozar - Solo Percussion - (CSP)
  19. Thanks, all. I hadn't checked the thread in a bit because nobody was replying (leading me to fear the worst). Well, I went from Minneapolis to Austin for grad school, so I still have some sweaters that need to get used. I'd be pumped to see the 'O' and come up to hassle all of you guys (Nessa included!). We shall see where all this leads - it's nice to be thought of as employable again!
  20. Bobby Naughton - Nauxtagram - (Otic) w/ Cleve Pozar, James Emery and Wes Brown.
  21. William Hooker - The Colour Circle - (Cadence) w/ Roy Campbell and Booker T.
  22. Beaver Harris 360 Degree Music Experience - In:Sanity - (BS)
  23. Another of my jokes falls flat.
  24. Before you know it, you'll be 31!
  25. Naw, man, he's that great tenor player from Albany, right?
