  1. There are two volumes with similar artwork. The first is a jewel case.
  2. Marzette Watts - Marzette & Co. - (ESP orig)
  3. I think there was no small amount of tongue-in-cheekness involved. It is sad that more people around here don't get that. I'm starting to reconcile Chuck and Clem here a bit more these days...
  4. That's good to know about the Lowe, which I have on LP. The Zitro is fantastic, one of the hidden treasures of the catalog.
  5. A guinea pig with really big cajones!
  6. But hyperbole is always welcome.
  7. Shellac of North America - 1000 Hurts - (Touch & Go)
  8. Have it, dig it. Haven't pulled it out in awhile so this will serve as a reminder.
  9. Congrats on the new addition. Now I want one too.
  10. I have an Aussie Emanem flyer in one of my Bernie McGann records.
  11. I got it last year sometime.
  12. Cecil - Conquistador - (BN Liberty Stereo orig)
  13. The vinyl of Stereolab's Emperor Tomato Ketchup is a single LP at over one hour. It sounds brilliant, and very dynamic. Those BS/SN LPs I mentioned also sound fine, though the Dixon is within a very narrow sonic range both musically and balance-wise.
  14. Conrad, this is one instance in which you are a prince among men. I think others have offered some great advice, so I don't really have much to add. I think you should certainly try more than just advising him, and actually - when you can - find a lawyer or a "useful" politician who can help. Arrange a meeting and make sure you're there.
  15. I watched that stupid movie The Brown Bunny last night, and one of the cuts from Tears For Dolphy appeared in the beginning. How weird is that?
  16. Still is. I got it from BMG about 2 weeks ago. It's an amazing, awesome record. I never thought much about Ray Brown before getting this, amazingly.
  17. Wait till the summer issue of Signal To Noise! Heh, actually it's an excellent record, much more raw and open than the Vortex (though the tune "Last Summer" also appears here). The opener, "1324," is an extended foray for Byard's alto, soprano, bass clarinet and trumpet against the backdrop of two basses, conga and J.R. Mitchell's hovering percussion. It's really nice.
  18. Again... I really look forward to this. Now, can we put it on the back burner so I don't have half a year of sweaty undies on this thing?
  19. There are some other BS/SN LPs with similar side timings. Bill Dixon's Thoughts (SN) and Lyons/Cyrille Something In Return come to mind.
  20. Mine was expensive, but nowhere near that much. It's good!
  21. Away for two weeks and this is what happens. Shit motherfucker shit. RIP, Jimmy, and thank you for so much - more than anyone here or at WKCR could convey.
  22. Any more on this? I'll be in Chicago like the 18-20 of May.
