  1. (The) Pink Floyd - Piper at the Gates of Dawn - (EMI UK reissue)
  2. Ted Daniel used a pitch-divider (?) on recordings with Andrew Cyrille; there's an interesting duo on Junction (IPS), which also features David S. Ware and Lisle Ellis.
  3. The Contemporary Jazz Quintet - TCJQ - (Debut) reissued on the Steeplechase twofer Actions.
  4. I need a couple of those LPs that are OOP. I remember when they were "everywhere" and now they seem "nowhere."
  5. Yeah, the Actions 2CD is great. Electric Harrit is pretty fucked... Vogel's in fine form on the Cadentia Nova Danica LP on Polydor, for which he penned a couple of tunes.
  6. That's great stuff. I have the CDs (sadly not the Debut originals) and have dug on them for years. Don't forget the wigged/unearthed material that Atavistic put out on UMS. Musical saw!!
  7. Derek Bailey - Duo & Trio Improvisation - (Kitty) w/ Abe, Takagi, Kondo, Yoshizawa and Tsuchitori...
  8. Don't get me wrong, I love 'Symphony for Improvisors' but always thought it was easy listening free jazz! Probably because I got so used to it when I heard repeatedly Don Cherry and the quintet with Gato Barbieri play this every night at the Chat Qui Pèche club in Paris.
  9. Yeah, that's a good one, "clearly." That Urabe eludes me... a very rare PSF title!
  10. KC needs a B-Ball team, if you ask me. Always wanted one there when I was a kid.

  12. This is all very interesting. And I didn't even have to break out a joke about Kenny Wheeler and Norma Winstone!
  13. For me, too - because at first I thought it was kinda boring and not "out" enough. With time and a clearer understanding of the period and what he was trying to do, I think it's a great session. "Mephistopheles" just kills, though...
  14. If I have time, I will do a reference search at our library today.
  15. This morning, before work: Marion Brown - In Sommerhausen - (Calig) w/ Steve McCall, Gunter Hampel, Ambrose Jackson, Jeanne Lee and Daniel "wildman" Laloux.
  16. Yeah, those Burton sides are really nice. I should buy those back sometime... Coryell's also on the JCOA silver box, given room to spazz out hard-core!
  17. Nice. I have Nommo, but not the first volume!
  18. Just a slag on the Hat and a big ups for Force, the duo LP on Uniteledis from a bit earlier.
  19. Yeah, you have one, right?
  20. I dunno, that's one big-ass lost soul...
  21. Maybe they got wise and decided to call up Uniteledis?
  22. For there being "only a hundred" with the painted cover, I feel like it's been passed around eBay enough...
