  1. Time to pull out the Mosaic LP set version and dust it down..
  2. That’s right. I don’t think those Blakey Prestiges and Roulettes got a release over here apart from ‘Gypsy Folk Tales’, which almost seemed like a comeback. The only Blakey releases I remember seeing around that time are the ones on Sonet (‘The Bop Session’ and ‘In Walked Sonny’).
  3. Votary CD version
  4. Jeez ! Thanks for the clarification though as I was wondering last night how this would affect them. Good to know.
  5. Very sad news, such a fine drummer. So many fine sessions he played on - Stan Getz ‘Sweet Rain’ probably my favourite. RIP.
  6. No sign of Pennywise?
  7. If I remember correctly Russ Freeman and Gene Norman also took part. Other forums had Buddy Collette, Laurie Pepper, Bud Shank and a number of others. Priceless ! The two who really stood out for me were Stan Levey and Russ Freeman. Interesting..
  8. Must buy this one. Sat in one time at a forum where he reminsced about West Coast Jazz. He was erudite and impressive.
  9. East Wind direct cut. Lovely !
  10. If that is the case - Mr Queen is well out of it, their loss. He is certainly appreciated here in Europe - and long may that be the case. Fortunate to catch him with Msrs Tolliver, Cowell, Harper and McBee several years ago in London.
  11. A very interesting listen after reading the fascinating recent Dave Liebman interview describing the circumstances of this session.
  12. Time to dig out my UK London of that one !
  13. A bit of a test after a rack and cable reconfig.
  14. Indeed !!
  15. Yep, most of his later stuff was on those Studio 2/Phase 4 MOR releases.
