  1. Just heard that my latest shipment including the James P. set has shipped.
  2. Something to do with her daily makeup ritual, according to the film.
  3. We (the esteemed Bill and I) wus there ! Diferent nights during that season of course.. Must get those Cds !
  4. I was playing a track of that Desmond on the CTI box the other day. Superb stuff and fantastic playing by Torontonian Ed Bickert. Figured that I need to pick up that CTI CD as well. The Anniversary box of 4CDs is great by the way too.
  5. The new Contours.
  6. Sounds about right. Scary ! I would love to try a set of the new Dynaudios but the 'damage' would be comparable.
  7. Must qualify my comments to say that this re-cap thing is certainly specific to large capacity reservoir capacitors on Naim power amps and power supplies. It is very noticeable when they do deteriorate. Certainly not a cheap type either, will apply to all reservoir caps I think.
  8. Glad to hear that diagnostic progress is being made. A capacitor issue would have been more gradual, so this sounds more likely. None taken.
  9. With the electrolytics it is just basic chemistry - with time the electrolytes degrade and don't hold the charge as well. I had to have re-done my old power amp after 10 years and that was already its 2nd re-cap.
  10. Rebello is more rock-influenced. Indeed, he was in Jeff Beck's group I believe. I think I read that he lives in the Bath area, hence the local gig. These church gigs can be great. Caught John Taylor in the fine old rural church at Plush, Dorset some years ago. Alas, never to be repeated.
  11. Meanwhile I missed out on a performance by Jason Rebello at a local and very picturesque church during the weekend. Sounds magic - alas, only just heard about it.
  12. 10 years for electrolytics requiring a changeout would be about right.
  13. John Taylor 'Decipher' (MPS)
  14. Electrolytic capacitor/s failed in the amp, perhaps? - requiring changeout.
  15. That's a nice Mighty Quinn reissue.
  16. Happy Birthday to him. He was already in his 70s when I last saw him perform, full of energy and enthusiasm ! Prof Irwin Corey up there in that age range as well.
  17. A late very happy birthday from me too Dan ! Arby's. Now there's a blast from the past (for me at least ). I would say that they would need to serve Rickards Red.
  18. From the Mono box..
  19. Thinking of the law as it stands here in the UK, I think she would have got manslaughter for that offence as there was clearly no advance plan of intent.
  20. Japanese 24 bit edition. Great album, never sounded better.
