  1. The Amazon UK pre-release price that I took advantage of was pretty good (about £35 I think).
  2. That July 1959 appearance by Morgan in Toronto was the visit on which he hooked up with Wayne Shorter at the Toronto CNE Grounds (Shorter was with Maynard Ferguson), I believe, and persuaded him to join The Messengers. I don't think Hank was up to making the trip.
  3. Wilfred Rhodes Wilfred Pickles Eric Pickles
  4. Sorry to hear this - RIP.
  5. Ben & Jerry Conan Mr Wippy
  6. Karl Berger & Co. 'Tune In' (Milestone, yellow label)
  7. Rahsaan Roland Kirk's vinyl collection would have been interesting. I read that he was an enthusiastic purchaser and even recruited Joe Texidor (from the checkout) in Sam Goody's !
  8. Lot's Wife Wife of Bath Baby-Eating Bishop of Bath & Wells
  9. Acker Bilk ?!? Hopefully it was 'Blue Acker' and 'Horn of Plenty' (both collaborations with Stan Tracey) and not 'Stranger On The Shore'.
  10. Larry Young?
  11. Big Black Big Daddy Shirley Crabtree George Crabbe Jean Shrimpton Lawrence Welk Buddy Rich Al Porcino Lyn Biviano
  12. Correct ! And I see that that pic is with Tommy Banks' band. I think I once saw Big Miller accompanied by Banks on the piano (we are talking early 1990s here. Sadly, Big Miller passed away some years ago). Well done. Next...

  14. Guernsey.. Ah yes, that Mega-Warehouse on an island catering for UK CD and DVD bargain hunters. And tax exile Banker Boys. Greatest ever find on Guernsey - the Ken McIntyre UA double CD set in a small shop in St Peter Port for £11. I nearly wet myself in the shop !
  15. OK.... Hint - A trip to the Vinyl Forum may throw some light on the question..
  16. Yna Yna Jessica Carlos
  17. Cut it out ! My planned raid on Manchester Fopp this week delayed for a while, regrettably.
  18. Some ugly post-game riots in Vancouver last night. Not cool.
  19. Sir Jasper Eskimo Nell Charlotte the Harlot Nel Gwyn Fergie Koo Stark
  20. Sorry to hear this and RIP Mr McMurdo. I remember seeing Dave McMurdo and Band at the Art Gallery of Ontario (I think) on one occasion long ago. Very enjoyable night. I think you were MC'ing, Ted !
  21. Not sure if Miles's 'Ife' squeezes within this limit.
  22. Pat Martino 'El Hombre' (OJC) Signed by Pat along the front cover fretboard.

    Sam Jones

The first Eastern Rebellion album with Cedar Walton is fantastic. And literally anything by the Adderley Quintet with Jones in the lineup is worth having.
  24. Still up for suggestions. Not Hank Jones !
