My LP copy is a NY USA stereo. Sounds a heck of a lot better than the CD version I have though. I remember hearing years ago a radio broadcast interview with a Hankophile (might have been Ronnie Scott) where he basically said everything Hank ever did was great, apart from 'A Caddy For Daddy', which was a 'routine, undistinguished cookie cutter blowing date'. I have to respectfully disagree on that one.

The Japanese Sony issue of the Plugged Nickel LP was the first. Followed by a 2LP set put out in the US and Europe in the early 1980s. That one was a revelation ! The Japanese LPs have actually got easier to source over the past decade.

Was there such a thing? The only US version of it was as a short snippet on a compilations of various performances from the festival. Definitely. I've got a Paris Jazz Corner auction booklet which shows a piccie of it (French CBS 4504721). I'll bet Monsieur Brownie has a copy The CD version in the big box is the one to have though. Schmokin !
