  1. If I lived nearer to Leicester I'd pop around to Jazz House and check it out for you in person ! :rsmile: Sadly, it's over 150 miles away.. Will be keeping an eye on this one too.
  2. I'll bet the condition of this one is a lot better than the description would tend to indicate. Factory sample too. There have been some less than good copies of this one on ebay in the last few years (not many in total) but I'll bet this isn't one of them.
  3. Joe Harriott/Amancio D'Silva - 'Hum Dono' (Columbia Lansdowne series, stsreo)
  4. I'm pretty sure I saw that very lineup back in 1999. Will have to check.
  5. Rebecca Mark Bernie Madoff Gordon Gecko
  6. Benny Bailey with Orchestra/Boland 'Mirrors' (Freedom, stereo)
  7. Question for JohnS - were you at this concert John? I know you mentioned you were at the infamous Ayler gig that was part of this series I believw.

A bargain, considering theres an ET in the upper LH quadrant
  9. Cannonball Adderley 'Somethin' Else' (BN King). Absolutely superb sound on this version. Various - 'Scotch 'n Sofa' (French Blue Note 2LP). "Designer" compilation for the Gallic cool dude bankers and babes...
  10. Bryan Clough Tyler Kent Anna Wolkoff Stephen Berkoff Malcom McDowell Georgie Boy Droig
  11. My boxes arrived and in pristine, sealed condition. The two Miles sets are the 'luxury' editions and not the long box. 'Jack Johnson' box is now down to £17.99 for anyone who needs a copy - damn, I was ripped off ! Price hike also on the '65-'68 box. There's also the Mingus Cornell for £3.99. Shame the UCLA album isn't in the sale.
  12. I'm looking forward to that. Roy Haynes could be heard doing some great stuff in the brief clip on the "cool" show. From the initial view of the back of his head I thought at first it was Tony Williams - indeed, he sounded great in the clip.
  13. Billy Childs Billy Bremner Brian Clough
  14. Great - thanks for the advisory. When I checked what was coming up on Freeview it didn't show this time, for some reason.
  15. Sahib Shihab 'Calypso Blues' (Rearward/Schema 2LP)
  16. Happy Birthday !
  17. Steve White Barry White Teddy Pendergrass
  18. 'Red Garland's Piano' (Prestige Bergenfield DG mono) 'Dizzy At The Riviera' (UK Philips stereo, reissue)
  19. I have to agree with that. I suspect Alan Yetnob is on something of a "KOB/Chet Baker/Brubeck' kick at the moment and the documentary was pitched with that 'style' aspect in mind. Most of us have grown out of it by now ! Bring on the Farmer/Hall. How can they just sit on this stuff?
  20. Here's what's on that Getz: Jazz Goes To College
  21. Other than re-broadcasts of the Humph and Ella 'Legends' plus some shows with Oscar Peterson and Andre Preview there doesn't seem to be much extra. No more 'Jazz 625s' from what I can see, sadly, in the immediate future.
  22. Some nice footage on that 'Cool' documentary. Highlight - Getz at the LSE playing 'O Grande Amor' with Burton, Swallow and Haynes. Where the heck did they find that one, back of a broom cupboard? I always thought all of that particular late-60s series ('Jazz Goes To College'?) had been wiped. BBC - please broadcast that one in full forthwith ! Similarly the Art Farmer/Jim Hall session from 'Jazz 625' (one tune broadcast on the documentary - again, very good). The two '625s' were pretty nice. Always good to see Ed Thigpen as part of Oscar P.'s trio and the MJQ show was very enjoyable too. Milt Jackson at his very best.
