  1. Be With Records. Trounces the box set CD version.
  2. That cover art on ‘Demon’s Dance’ is also by Mati Klarwein, who also did the ‘Bitches Brew’ art - and ‘Live - Evil’.
  3. They were on form those nights, for sure.
  4. I have a Liberty issue too plus it is also on that nice Stanley Turrentine Mosaic I think. Thad Jones also brilliant as usual.
  5. These two live studio sessions are definitely a find.
  6. I need to get that one and Vol 1 ! British Progressive Jazz
  7. Cheers - just one side but the fault was an annoyance. Replacement disk is pristine - and they included a Bill Evans covid mask !
  8. Have great fondness for this one - was in the audience on one of the nights (eating a nice salmon dinner ).
  9. Just received a prompt replacement LP for one of my RSD Bill Evans sets from Resonance so thumbs up to them for that.
  10. I’ve got the feeling that she might have been as starting act in tandem with either George Coleman or Cedar Walton’s groups. At the time, she was seen as an up and coming London based singer. Australian singer Julie Amiet was another I saw around that time. Plus Joy Yates with Dave Macrae.
  11. I never heard the Candid original but this version fulfils all my requirements. Bodes well for the rest of the LP reissues. I have the Max Roach on an 80s CD and this version blows it away completely.
  12. The audio isn’t the greatest but is acceptable, especially given the live club circumstances in a cramped space. I don’t think it is up to the musical standard of the first Deram album but being the very last night of Ronnie Scott’s Old Place this is all about occasion and it is captured and at an interesting point in the Westbrook story. 75 mins of music. The Ellington influence comes across very strongly in the arrangements. Her early and tragic passing was so sad. I can remember her during the UK stint seeing her with Keith Ingham on piano at Ronnie Scott’s.
  13. The recent RSD LP of ‘We Insist !’ (clear vinyl) mastered by Bernie Grundman sounds fabulous and bodes well for the rest of this series.
  14. Aha - the Mole Jazz CD reissue. Less than 2 months until he sets foot again at jazz dives across this land !
  15. Looks like Toshiko in the rack alongside Benny Goodman.
  16. Here’s the DJM LP:
  17. Pepper Adams ‘Room At The Top’ LP1 with Eurovision Song Contest on mute..
