  2. Just listening again to the William Parker bass solo. Even more amazing when heard again. A dark and deep solo, for sure.
  3. The Andrews Sisters The Beverley Sisters Sister Sledge
  4. The Indo-British Ensemble 'Curried Jazz' (MFP) 'Focus Jazz - More Modern Jazz From The Wewerka Archive' (Sonar Kollektiv 2LP)
  5. They weren't kidding about today's rain ! Gutters are over-flowing. It's times like this that you are glad your house is on a bit of a hill and not next to the river.
  6. Billy Butlin Princess Anne Lord Snooty and his Pals
  7. The video credits indicate January 1964. KD was touring Scandinavia at the time. Fabulous clip. There's also a recording of Dorham that came with the CD in Randi Hultin's book that must have been recorded around this time. Reminds me of his great playing on the Cedar Walton Prestige LPs of this vintage. A total original.

  9. OFFICIAL I'm warning you. If you say 'Jehovah' once more-- [MRS. A. stones OFFICIAL]
  10. Last night - whole Canadian lobster steamed in white wine with shallotts, garlic and sweet red pepper on a bed of organic spaghetti. Fresh rasberries and cream for desert.
  11. That place used to be my first port-of-call in LA - but I'm talking 10ish years ago or before, sadly. Bought a couple of the Miles CD sets there at good discounts (which was virtually impossible at the time in the UK) plus they always had some rare TOCJs lurking in the racks. Astonishing place, at its peak.

  13. DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYO DAAAAY - O ....... There, I feel better for that !
  14. Beware a deluge tomorrow !
  15. I'm skint but the 'Piano Moods' set looks like one to have. Hope it holds out a few weeks. I wasn't even sure I had the Herman but a quick check confirmed that fortunately I have. Things are getting bad when you cannot even keep track of which ones you have and which ones you have not.
  16. "The album gets a vinyl LP release in August on Jonny Trunk's Trunk label."
  17. Fantastic news - thanks for sharing that. This one has eluded me as I missed the private issue from Neil Ardley. A lost Lansdowne session and a fine one - based on the track included in one of the Peterson compilations. Norma Winstone on vocals !

  20. Indeed. Happy Birthday !
  21. Joe Harriott Quintet 'Swings High' (Melodisc stereo). With Stu Hamer and Phil Seaman.
  22. 'Hum Dono' is very much in the style of Amancio D'Silva's 'Integration' album ie. Indo-Jazz fusion with a bit of a psychadelic, laid-back feel. The track 'Jaipur' is featured on one of the Peterson compilations. For a long time the story was that Universal had completely lost the tapes but hopefully now they have recovered a stereo master. Pretty scarce on LP - those LPs that do turn up tend to be fairly trashed.
  23. Ford Prefect Arthur Dent Zaphod Beeblebrox
  24. How much did it end up costing from RO, with postage to UK? 28.80 euros. That's just under £20 in 'real' money! Quite pricey but I don't think you will be able to get it much cheaper anywhere else. Thanks !
