Embrace digital or die, EMI told

So the death of the major companies will reduce the value of the old masters they own (eg Chess, Imperial, Blue Note, Aladdin, Savoy etc) to the point where it will not be worthwhile pursuing pirates - like the Andorrans. But what, I wonder, would happen to the physical masters in this scenario? MG Good - and important - question In this perspective, I can reconsider my suspicious thoughts about the BN Hoffman 45rpm reissue. As long as audiophile nuts are willing to throw the money for having the best sounding remastering, for big labels could be profitable selling the masters to audiophile labels: they will save conservation costs and earn from the selling. For audiophile labels preserving the masters will assure them a neverending remastering and repackaging business. Never understimate the capitalism: sometimes it works. Sadly good sound lovers is an endagered species. -

Sir, do I see an infringement of copy rights here? Nah, Organissimo is not "medium" is top "high". -
Like every "artsy" movie, it requires a lot of concentration, that's why I go to theater to see such movies...but if you've a HD Big Screen at home, wich I haven't, it will work as well.

I'm thinking about Prometheus stealing fire from the Gods. I'm thinking about Eve making Forbidden Fruit salad. I'm thinking about Rabbi Loew and his big clay friend. I'm thinking about Mary Shelley's ghost story. I'm thinking of Einstein, Marie Curie, and Robert Oppenheimer unleashing armageddon. I'm thinking about a big sign that says, "Do NOT pass this point." Don't say we haven't been warned. There's a reason that so much of our mythology deals with forbidden knowledge and the consequences therein. Paradise Lost, indeed... Well put, but we are shaped to pass points. It remind me a book: Roy Lewis' The Evolution Man. -

What else can we do? Exactly. I don't see a chance, unless you add yourself at the huge wave of bigotery of religious ranting at science. -
what is your clothing style
porcy62 replied to alocispepraluger102's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
I drive the motorbike everyday, so I wear safety clothing: boots, jeans, T-shirt, or button shirt when I feel I have to be more elegant, and leather Jacket. I never had to wear suits for my job, and I thanks God for it. When I don't drive motorbike, I can be casual or elegant, it depends on the situation and mood. -

It's a shot from Kubrick's FULL METAL JACKET, with Lee Ermey as Gny. Sgt. Hartman. Lee Ermey was a real Marines Gny Sgt. Some quotes from and turpiloquy in general. Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: Are you quitting on me? Well, are you? Then quit, you slimy fucking walrus-looking piece of shit! Get the fuck off of my obstacle! Get the fuck down off of my obstacle! NOW! MOVE IT! I'm going to rip your balls off, so you cannot contaminate the rest of the world! I will motivate you, Private Pyle, IF IT SHORT-DICKS EVERY CANNIBAL ON THE CONGO! Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: If you ladies leave my island, if you survive recruit training, you will be a weapon. You will be a minister of death praying for war. But until that day you are pukes. You are the lowest form of life on Earth. You are not even human, fucking beings. You are nothing but unorganized grabastic pieces of amphibian shit. Because I am hard you will not like me. But the more you hate me the more you will learn. I am hard but I am fair. There is no racial bigotry here. I do not look down on niggers, kikes, wops or greasers. Here you are all equally worthless. And my orders are to weed out all non-hackers who do not pack the gear to serve in my beloved Corps. Do you maggots understand that? Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: How tall are you, private? Private Cowboy: Sir, five-foot-nine, sir. Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: Five-foot-nine, I didn't know they stacked shit that high. Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: Who said that? Who the fuck said that? Who's the slimy little communist shit, twinkle-toed cocksucker down here who just signed his own death warrant? Nobody, huh? The fairy fucking godmother said it. Out-fucking-standing. I will PT you all until you fucking die. I'll PT you until your assholes are sucking buttermilk. Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: Tonight, you pukes will sleep with your rifles. You will give your rifle a girl's name because this is the only pussy you people are going to get. Your days of finger-banging ol' Mary J. Rottencrotch through her pertty pink panties are over! You're married to this piece. This weapon of iron and wood. And you will be faithful. Port, hut! Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: Holy dog shit. Texas? Only steers and queers come from Texas, Private Cowboy. And you don't look much like a steer to me so that kinda narrows it down. Do you suck dicks? Ecc.. You can find it in http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0093058/quotes BTW A fucking masterpiece of the fucking seventh art. The fucking movies, I mean. -

The rehearsal take of "Round Midnight" is the best introduction to Monk's music and jazz in general, I mean you can hear him "thinking" through the music! One of the most illuminating experience in my journey in Music Land.

First: if I would have known at times that someone in this forum hadn't the Monk, I'd never subscribe. Second: I'd buy another copy only for the price.
