  1. I would add Bobby Watson's "This Little Light Of Mine." All alto sax. He pulls it off. I can sit and listen to the entire CD from start to finish without feeling there's something missing.
  2. Now it’s one billion dollars.
  3. I just got this in the mail. I haven't listened yet, but I enjoy Renee Rosnes' music. Her second collaboration with David Hajdu, who wrote the lyrics for the tracks.
  4. Sonny knows how to play anything well. In the 1980's Sonny was at the pinnacle of his playing in my opinion. He makes his horn sound like the human voice. At least that's what I am hearing in this clip.
  5. I am referring to the Savory collection. When you're the museum the iTunes where you listen to the music doesn't have a lot of details as to who is playing. There are hundreds of Goodman tracks. Yes, towards the end of this Podcast one of the jam sessions was what I listened to. I hope one day, the Goodman estate comes to terms and this music gets released. The track that included this jam was over 15 minutes, with a radio announcer bridging each tune.
  6. I wonder how many recordings have Charlie Christian with Goodman? I did get to listen to 2 recordings.
  7. I wonder if there will be any more released from this collection? Today I was at the Jazz Museum of Harlem. I was listening to several recordings that have not made that way either through iTunes or the Mosaic release. It seems as if more music has been added for listening at the museum. Two jam sessions each about 15 minutes long with B. Goodman, L. Young, R. Eldridge, T. Wilson, and drums and bass which did not list the musicians. Man, These jams were swinging. Since nothing with Benny Goodman has been issued, I’m guessing his estate said no having these released.
  8. Yeah, I've realized that too. It just as amazing that in 1957 e put out 9 sessions as a leader.
  9. Wow, another loss. R.I.P. Mr. Bluiett.
  10. I recently got this and the sound on my copy sucks to the point where I will not listen to it again. It sound so compressed.
  11. I ordered this CD. It was the Jazz recording of the year at ALLMUSIC.com The entry mentions a CD-ROM only track. Does anyone here have this CD? If so, is there a CD-ROM only track? Is it music or something else?
  12. Sad. RIP, Jerry.
  13. A real long life, RIP, Charles.
  14. RIP Mr. Rush.
  15. Happy Birthday.
  16. Listening to WKCR too.
  17. Thanks for the responses.
  18. Anyone have this? If so, how is it? I'm interested in for Cedar Walton, Mal Waldron and Harold Vick. I can't find any information on this. Is it a compilation CD or something else?
  19. Pretty cool.
  20. There are 3 strings. Just one snapped. That’s all that was replaced. The Steinway tech tuned it a slight semi tone sharp to allow for stretching. I guess a string breaking is fairly common. The tech was saying he was replacing a string at another venue before coming the Jazz Standard.
