I'd recommend many of the quartet sessions.

He has a recent release out on Sunnyside, Sketch, that has some good playing and good tunes. (It was recorded two or three years ago, though.)

I'm especially intrigued by the Evans section. There was a Beck discs called 'Seven Steps to Evans' that has long been OOP. I saw Wheeler and Beck do an Evans tribute concert in the early 1991 and long wanted to hear this music. They did a glorious version of Evans' late composition 'Laurie'. Could the DVD be from the concert you saw?

I remember when I could've bought a whole wall of Saturn LPs for cheap from 3rd Street Jazz in Philly. But I wasn't as interested in Sun Ra back then. I could kick myself. Oh well.

Legit? Mmmm, yeah. What label is it on? I have doubts that its a legit release. (As far as I know, the Horo label owner hasn't licensed anything for reissue.)
