  1. About a foot of snow overnight. Thundersnow this evening. Some water dripping down the basement wall to the floor. And we're predicted to have 3-6 inches more snow tonight. Oh well, at least there isn't ice.

  15. Sounds interesting. I'll try to check it out. I've liked a lot of Hollenbeck's work and have enjoyed this one too.
  16. I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but John Hollenbeck composed settings for Kenneth Patchen poems for his Claudia Quintet album "What is the Beautiful?" Readings are by Kurt Elling and Theo Bleckmann, accompanied by Hollenbeck, Ted Reichman, Chris Speed, Matt Moran, Drew Gress, and Matt Mitchell.
  17. Start with "Pronto." It's the first story with the Raylan Givens character.
  18. Gopnik does get slightly more nuanced in the latter part of the Ellington portion, but the beginning is pretty idiotic.
