  1. Oh, I think Vin Scully is the absolute best...he just announces games for the wrong team
  2. Yer killin' me, SS1
  3. It would appear that the only reason the Dodgers did this deal was to get Adrian Gonzalez. But, TBH, I am very glad Loney is gone. He has been a Giants killer for years. As to the BoSox, I guess they are all about the youth movement now. Hm. Good luck with competing with the Yonkers. You've got that wrong. The Yankees play a few miles south of Yonkers! My bad. I'll buy a better map
  4. A post-reporting click of the mouse away, if you really need to find them. I'll be honest with you Jim... I am really trying to avoid conflict with Blue Train and Mike Schwartz. But these guys seek me out and say stupid shit about me on a regular basis. TBH, I am at a complete loss as to what to to do to stop this crap.

  6. It is a toothless "victory" for the USADA. The International Cycling Union does not recognize their assumed right to take away or ban Armstrong from anything. USADA is asked by UCI to justify itself USADA has a political bug up its ass and an ax to grind relative to Armstrong, if you ask me.
  7. It's a funny game sometimes, Larry. But I think that is also its attraction and why we all love baseball so much
  8. That's SI reporting ESPN reporting one of their Boston correspondent's Tweets! No confirmation, no sources, even on background, just WHOOHOO!!!!! Typical contemporary journalistic (sports and otherwise) circle-jerk, nobody wants to be left out of RIGHT NOW. Accuracy is just something you say when a certain type of car goes by... I'm with you on that one, Jim. Gossip for men. Exactly. OTOH, that is what worries me most about the deep pockets of the Guggenheim Baseball Group. It looks like they have absolutely no problem with throwing big, giant wads of money around to essentially buy the WS and pay off the mortgage in one year. In addition, it sure seems to me like they are taking a page straight out of the Steinbrenner playbook: Greed meets baseball. The Dodger farm system will pay dearly. That kind of stuff is bad for MLB regardless of who is doing it.
  9. Yeah, but get into the Dodger bullpen and it's [ahem] game over. The pitching is in need of some serious help. Beckett isn't the answer and neither is Gonzalez. True dat. But a salary dump isn't going to help either.
  10. Beckett has first right of refusal and a huge contract. Gonzales would be costly too, but would probably want to go back to California where he's from...so we see. I hear tell that the Dodgers may be willing to mortgage the future by trading pitching prospects to make the deal work. Bad idea, if you ask me. Pitching is their weakness.
  11. Waivers claim not a done deal as yet.
  12. But you gotta love this: Either Valentine's being a Good Soldier, or else he's being left out of the discussion altogether because his ass is gonna be out of there too and he just don't know it yet. Of course, the possibility that both are true also linger... Either the Dodgers are attempting to buy the WS ala Stienbrenner or it is just rumor. I mean, that is an awful lot of talent for the BoSox to unload during 2nd half of the season. The BoSox are only 13 games back. This would be akin to falling on their collective sword. Doesn't make baseball sense, IMHO.
  13. Here's a shocker: Barry Zito has a winning record this year; 10-8. I never saw that one coming. Melky Cabrera BA: Atl .255 [that's overall, he was traded because his BA had fallen off. The last couple months of that year around .158] KC .305 SF .346 Source: Baseball Reference No Yankee has ever been suspended for 50 games...neither was Braun from the Brew-ha's. I find that to be a rather curious bit of information.
  14. Giants SWEEP in LA!
  15. Nah. PEDs only happen in the Bay Area. Exactly. Melky Cabrera's BA in Chop-lanta was like .158 or something then all of a sudden he's hitting out of his shoes in KC. But the Giants were the reason why he was on PEDs. Sure. The East Coast guys are just pushed out of shape because Bud Selig made the All-Star Game result the home field advantage. Melky gets the MVP, the Yankees fans get all up in a lather [assuming they make it to the WS] and all of a sudden it's about the Giants and PEDs. Fine. Whatever. Tonight, I just want to see a Giants sweep of the [hated] Dodgers. So you're OK with a cheater maybe deciding home field advantage in the WS? Is that what I said...? Because what I thought I said was the East Coast guys [Yankees fans in specific] are angry about Melky and the NL getting home field advantage in the playoffs. Further, I have always supported the best record for home field. But, of course, nobody reads/remembers that. Besides, if the AL won would we even be having this conversation? I doubt it. Blame Bud Selig for that home field nonsense, not some idiot PED user.
  16. You're a good Son, Jeff. Kudos.

  18. Hm. When do they start focusing on the East Coast teams in contention...?
  19. Lincecum came through with a gem to win 4-1. Cain on the mound tonight...Go Giants! BEAT LA! BEAT LA! BEAT LA! Beltre is still a factor? He's a great talent, then!
  20. The Mad Bum out duels Kershaw for the 2-1 win last night and in LA! Lincecum on the mound tonight; we can only hope he brings his A game. GO Giants!
  21. I don't know if this is good news or bad news: Houston fires Brad Mills [a local guy from my area]: Mills and two coaches fired by Astros Last I saw it was 3-2 in the 17th...wow
  22. Willie Mays?
  23. Mattingly gets a two-game suspension for taking exception with the ump: Barking mad.
  24. Exactly. Now who's up for some baseball talk?
  25. It is the main reason why I won't attend a Raiders game.
