Believe it or not, it works--that's how I got into "iphone world" in the first place. Bought a friend's used first gen phone; took it to AT&T, opened an account, got a sim card. Easy as that.

Hey all. My first-gen iphone is biting the dust, so I thought I'd check to see if anyone here has one kicking around after upgrading or what have you, that they'd like to sell me. second-gen is fine too, but seems less likely to be available used. No preference as to memory capacity; should still be AT&T-ready for me to pop in my sim card. Thanks for looking. Peter
