  1. And Jazzbo, I think I can empathise a bit with what you are both going thru, my partner was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 years ago, tuff times, but keep on keepin on, OK?
  2. Till now Wifey doesnt realise that I have more than one version of Me and my Uncle!!!!
  3. Strata East- the Dolphy series? I dont know how many releases there were.....
  4. I live in the sticks with access to dial up, never got into the tape trading scene and so far have not started downloading. I am not only technologically challenged, but also a Luddite. The Dead are , however, my first love so I buy all official product thru to 73 when I lost interest, and of course I have had my share of boots, in the past on vinyl and then cd. In time I will however get the official down loads. And much as I do love the Dead, I have also a fair bit of other music to listen to! Plus , I dont want to get divorced, as I said in a very early posting to this thread, wifey wonders how many Lovelights a man needs!
  5. I am with Chuck and Ed this time round, bought all of the Impulses as they came out on CD a few years ago, sort of dug them at the time, but found that I filed them away pretty quickly. When I reauditined them 2 years ago I found no compelling reason to hang on to them, did keep Black Unity tho, and do play his ESP album rather more than most other stuff on the label.
  6. Ubu, for Rostasis plug for Songlines, every issue, I end up buying 2 or 3 albums on the strength of what I hear on the free cd.
  7. Both Muse titles were out in Japan a year or so back in the Pony Canyon / Muse reissue program, Jewel case, perhaps Hiroshi can still get them? Mind you I think the original covers were also pretty lame....
  8. Yes, Tranemonk, plenty of great music on the first albums, but then stuff gets in the way! I really like to listen in depth and over time, this is the first real exposure to Nelson except Abstract truth and the Dolphy OJCs, and I find too many distractions...also, and this could get me expelled from this site, I am not too crazy about the Jimmy Smith sides!!! I shall return to the box over the weekend and try again, but really, I cant remeber the last time I bought a Mosaic and had the same reaction of being so underwhelmed. Different strokes I guess...On the other hand I also got the select of Tolliver in the same sending Whew!
  9. I have a mint copy of this which I am thinking of offering here ,what is a fair-to both me and the potential purchasor- price? Also if anybody is interested in applying for the role pf purchasor- me being the seller- mail me...! Oh yeah, I forgot, its CD
  10. The Oliver Nelson, but I cant say I am enjoying it much, one of my very few Mosaic disapointments. Just too bitty for me, I doubt if I will return to more than half of this box too often, too much gets in the way of the music, Kennedy speeches and I hate the Peter and the Wolf stuff!
  11. I remember their first hit Go now. I wish they had. Then.
  12. I think that a FA would do. But not sweet FA of course! I dont like auctions, would rather pay over the odds to a pal on this forum than play the auction game with snipers et al, so FA or a new topic? yes please.
  13. Yeah, I just looked at wifey and saw myself in the mirror.....
  14. AAAAAAAaaaghhhhhh!! Not the Moody Blues, AAAAAAAAaaaaghhhhhh! My blood pressure just went up. Not hip, not hip at all, never was, never will be, even in a parallel universe. Sorry. cant stand them! Did like Van de Graff however, saw them often way back when.......
  15. Thanks Guys, but what about the Art Farmer? And, while we are up and running, the Farrel disc, Out Back?
  16. Any opinions about the CTI albums by Art Farmer and Randy Weston? I hated Lateefs contribution to this label........
  17. I am Swedish! But Cockney born. Took Swedish nationality awhile back. Cockney is my mother tongue...
  18. Is that an anagram? Or just a profundity? Either way you have lost me!
  19. A wop boppa loobop a lop bam boom! or am I thinking of the wrong Little Rich?
