The Spaniels: Play It Cool (Vee Jay/Charly)
My ears say that the guitarist on this is Chicagoan Jody Williams. My ears can be wrong, but great guitar by whoever it is.
Sam Cooke's Night Beat
Most of Sam Cooke's hits were made for a mixed - black and white audience. This record was made for a black audience - not even looking for a hit, though I do remember hearing "Little Red Rooster" on AM radio back when.
Bird's Eyes Vol. 8
Includes music recorded in Boston, 1951; Paul Desmond and a radio announcer interviewing Bird; and Bird sitting in with the Kenton Orchestra - Good enough for me.
