  18. I was surprised when I read this obituary. For some reason, I thought that Colin Dexter had passed away some time ago, around the time that John Thaw, who played Morse in the TV series, died. For what it's worth, I liked the books very much when I read them, and thought that the television version of Inspector Morse was well done. Thanks, Mr. Dexter.
