  1. Unfortunately, you are probably right about that. I'm not sure I've ever seen a window slam shut as quickly as this…ever. Sorry, brother... It's happened before. When I was young(er), the 1964 Giants went 2-10, after winning the eastern conference championship and playing in the NFL title game the year before. I doubt that the 49ers will fall that far.
  2. The Jets should release Smith too. Enemkpali is an idiot for throwing the punch and deserved to be released, but he might have actually improved the Jets by putting Smith out of action.

  12. I saw and heard him almost 50 years ago. Great to know that he's still going strong - amazing to think that he was only six years older than I and was playing the way he was.

  15. That stinks. (The fact that it's a CDR, not the music.)
  16. That's one of the great things about baseball, John. There's always a game tomorrow - or the next day, if your team has a rare day off. And hitters are less skillful. They seem to want to pull the ball no matter what kind of shift the defense has set up. That was fine for Ted Williams. He could hit .340, even against the shift. Not so great for guys who are hitting .250, even if they do hit some home runs.

  22. I saw this in Montreal (with English titles) when it first came out, but I didn't know the music wasn't from the Atlantic recording sessions. Is this otherwise unreleased Coltrane? Do you have any more info? The music track might possibly be in the NFB archive. Perhaps some information is contained here: http://www.wildmusic-jazz.com/jcr_1964.htm - see 64-0624
  23. Happy Birthday (Belatedly) and Thanks!
