Well, I think they are testing the waters. They may even be surprised at how quickly the 10,000 sold. They probably felt that there was a bigger market for the 3 cd version that would supplement but not duplicate the cd of the original lps. . . . I would imagine they didn't feel that a ten cd set would be such a popular item. And this made it safe for them: over time they figured they could easily sell 10,000 and they could make them, distribute them, not have to store them long, etc. Fiscally this was probably a comfortable venture.
My guess is they will rethink their strategy before the next release; it may not be limited edition, or be a time frame or a larger number of limited items.
