  1. Quite possibly. They do have a winner on their hands!
  2. One thing for sure: since they can sell 10,000 units in such a short burst of days, there will be more projects like this! Maybe there will be some good box sets from my favorite time period, '72-'74.
  3. Yes, I'm glad I preordered! Wow. Not really surprising, but. . . wow.
  4. And some people wonder why they are busy making movies of TV shows? I preordered Alias Season Four. Maybe by Thanksgiving I'll be caught up and can actually then watch broadcast shows!
  5. If you're old enough to drink and vote now. . . don't overdo either!

    Frog Records

Hmmm. . . I haven't heard about this, or encountered it with any Frog purchases. Someone will hopefully answer your question at Frog. (It won't be David French as he passed away some months back, right?)
  7. Not sure about JRVGs, but there are Superbit TOCJs (some of which were remastered by RVG) that have a stray extra tune or two. I'm thinking specifically of the Russ Freeman/Dick Twardzik one and I think there were others.
  8. Yes, this Tate is very good too. I like it a lot. I like the recent release of his that I have heard, but this Verve from the sixties is. . . well. . . a bit better.
  9. This is great music, and the sound is excellent. Though there aren't a lot of notes, there are page after page of beautifully reproduced photos, some of the best photos of Muddy of this vintage there are (and some fabulous guitars and clothes!)
  10. They do a great job, this company. The Muddy Waters set is FANTASTIC! So are the first two Motowns (I know that the third is/will be too, just haven't heard it!)
  11. No argument from me. I'm married to the woman that moved me more than any other woman, I don't know how to live without her now. We've been through awful illness (on her part) that actually separated us. . . and we had a chance to not be in each others' lives and we put our life together together again and it has been just the building blocks we needed. I think many people wonder what their life would be like without the other sometimes. . . . Well I KNOW what it's like. I hope you have this sort of marriage JP without the tragic part . . . !
  12. She's fantastic. You know, I had kinda just said "to hell with it all" before I met her. I turned down dates, I just wasn't at all interested in meeting or hanging with anyone. I wrote a lot more and practiced a lot more, but outside of a few friends, I had no interest in being linked with anyone romantically. And then, all of the sudden, out of nowhere comes this woman who loves many of the same things that I do, that thinks that Vandermark is boring because he isn't willing to take enough chances musically (I busted out some Anthony Braxton, she dug that...), digs all of my friends, actually finds my quirks either amusing and/or adorable, is smart, thinks about religion the same way I do, reads the newspaper with fervor, and is just awesome in every way, and yet, in the ways in which it would be adventageous for her to be different, she is. So, yeah, I have found the woman that I do believe is absolutely perfect for me. Thanks for all of the kind words, folks!!! ← You do know that all those things you're so happy about are going to change, right? But anyway, congratulations and best of luck!
  13. Nnnniiiiiicccce.
  14. Well, maybe mine has loosened up? I can read mine fine. Also, with effort, I believe the brass spine can be slid off. . . which should make the reading easier. Anyway, if you have problems with it that's a shame. Just reporting that I really don't. . . .
