In from Japan yesterday, and certainly not cheap, but. . . stereo tapes from the Half Note March and April 1965. I’ve never heard these before.

“The Complete April 1957 Riverside Recordings of Thelonious Monk and John Coltrane” disc 2
The remastering on this set is wonderful. And the music . . .keep revealing details to me listening after listening.
Carmen Lundy "Jazz & The New Songbook – Live At The Madrid" disc 2.
I discovered that Lucy like this . . . so I need to find more Carmen Lundy. This is great for a windy Sunday morning.
This sat in the shelves a long time since my last playing. I pulled it out waiting for her most recent one (“Aire”) to arrive and am happy to be playing it this morning.
Ms Herrera is quite an artist.
Magos Herrera “Whispering Orchids/Orquideas Sussurrantes”
An excellent series of multi-disc volumes from Sweden. I have them all, they are all great listens.
Svensk Jazz Historia “Watch Out! Swedish Jazz Volume 10, 1965-1969,” Caprice Records, disc 3

Miki Yamanaka “Songs without Lyrics” cd
I ordered two cds from Miki directly to complete my collection of her work, and received both personally autographed and with a long personal note from Miki. That was very nice!
Eddie Condon Town Hall Concerts, Volume 4, Jazzology Records LP 2
Eddie and his “co-workers” working hard. Great stuff. Especially happy to hear Ernie Caceres.
“The Complete Verve Recordings Of The Buddy De Franco Quartet / Quintet With Sonny Clark” Mosaic Records LP box set, record 1.
Rudy Van Gelder mastered this set and it sounds very good. A year ago I tried to sell this set as I have the cd version as well and have always listened to that, no one seemed interested. I’m glad I’ve kept it.
This was a fun release. The past entries in this series were good as well. Here’s hoping perhaps there will be more.
Donald Byrd “Live at Montreux” Blue Note cd
I played this one (arrived in the mail today) twice–it was such an energetic and bold and clear session and recording. I wanted to hear details again.
Dannie Richmond Quintet “Dionysius” Red Records cd 2023
Then on to one pulled from the shelves, Kurt Rosenwinkle, “The Enemies of Energy” Verve cd. I like the music. . . his guitar tone. . . not as much.
