  1. Starting the day off with the second cd I’ve bought of Nelson Angelo. This guy captivates me. He has an amazing arranging gift and he has more than 50 years of experience singing and writing. And . . . he retains a goofiness that is very endearing alongside his mastery. I love his guitar playing! Nelson Angelo “Times Square”
  2. Seamus Blake "Guardians of the Heart Machine"
  3. Terri Lynne Carrington “Money Jungle – Provocative in Blue” GrooveJazz Media A re-interpretation of the Ellington-Mingus-Roach masterpiece with added instrumentation and taped voices.
  4. A not typical Joyce album–here a batch of jazz standards with her husband Tutti on drums and Helio Alves on piano. Great music for the glistening snow outside and the still quiet of the mornning. Joyce Moreno “Cool” Far Out Recordings cd
  5. "Jews of the Wild West." Excellent PBS documentary.
  6. The Complete Alain Jean-Marie Biguine Reflections, disc 2
  7. I have to admit that is true for me too. My favorite of his that I have heard is the live 2 cd set. I really really enjoy the playing of the trio backing him, his playing not so much.

  10. Starting the day off with some Neil Swainson Quintet featuring Joe Henderson, “49th Parallel” cd
  11. Roberto Grilli “1962” A session with some great players: Mark Turner, Kevin Hayes, Joe Martin, Eric Harland.
  12. “Albare plays Jobim–A Tribute to Antonio Carlos Jobim” I could probably do with fewer orchestration, but I can tune them out for the most part. Nice interpretations on Les Paul guitar.
  13. Jean-Michel Proust "To Barney, Vol. 1" I think anyone interested in jazz would love the two volumes Proust has put out honoring the strong influence Barney Wilen has had on his art, and the sound is stunningly good.
  14. It was 1 F this morning. Now it's 7 F. At least the high wind of last week and the start of the week seems to have ceased.
  15. This is a two disc set, one Blu-ray Audio, one SACD. I can’t play the Blu-ray Audio in my system at the moment, though it sounds fantastic. (2L stuff always does). The SACD also sounds fantastic and is in play right now. There is Beethoven here. . . some great Schubert as well. Oslo String Quartet “Minor Major” 2L SACD 1089×950 439 KB minor major (2L-135-SABD) Oslo String Quartet
  16. “70’s Jazz Pioneers: Live at the Town Hall, NYC” 550×548 81.2 KB Haven’t spun this in a while. Enjoying the revisit!

  18. Miles Davis “Agharta” Sony Blu-Spec CD2 2023 Have to say this sounds great! Still thinking of MLK and for some reason this recording aids that.
  19. Good to hear from you Bol. Yes, it all makes a difference. When I last saw you I was at the beginning of my audio journey and making discoveries such as you have. It can be an expensive endeavor, but the sonic rewards can be really something.
