This put me in the mood for some Lee Wiley. Lee Wiley “Manhattan Nights–The Complete Golden Years Studio Sessions” disc 1 of 4. There are better sounding versions of most of the material in this set on cd, but this was where I first encountered these sides and they are quite listenable for the most part. And her singing! She was unique.

Keith Jarrett Trio “Standards, Vol.1” ECM Japan SHM-SACD Music I’ve enjoyed for decades. . . memories are flowing.

David Sánchez “Obsesión” Columbia cd 600×600 120 KB A jazz orchestral Latin excursion for the first spin of the day. I’ve not spun this one in a while–fascinating to realize this was released 25 years ago.

“Johnny Hodges With Billy Strayhorn And The Orchestra” Verve/Analogue Productions SACD Arrangements tailor made for Johnny and he steps up to the plate and knocks them out. Great sound too!

I bought a copy with birthday money as well, delivered Saturday. Impressive set . . . even though there is material I wish was there that isn't.

Tania Maria “Love Explosion” Concord cd Well, “Funky Tamborin” woke me up! A bigger band than usual for Ms Maria with horns and chorus.

? Not really sure I understand your post but if you are calling this a bad album. . . I've learned to like it if not be crazy about it. So much is personal preference and taste. I can understand if you don't like it.

Keith Jarrett/Gary Peacock/Jack DeJohnette “Yesterdays” ECM cd These three masters never made a bad record together. Probably not apart as well!

Barney Wilen "Essential Best" Venus lp facsimile cd Yeah, I have all this material on their original releases. But it's a nice selection and sequence and I wanted to hear this this morning. I never get enough Barney.

“Miles at the Fillmore – Miles Davis 1970: The Bootleg Series Vol. 3” Disc 4 “Saturday Miles” This box set was an answer to prayers as “Miles Davis at Fillmore” has been a favorite and staple of my listening world for fifty years and was heavily edited for release. This is all four sides of that release, completely unedited for the first time officially.

“Russ Freeman/Richard Twardzik Trios” Pacific Jazz/EMI Superbit Jazz Classics LP facsimile cd 600×600 100 KB A nice piano trio(s) disc to start off the day. Both pianists are different, but fit well together on one disc.

Antonio Carlos Jobim “Stone Flower” Legacy cd Partially playing to evaluate how the system is sounding now in regards to transport and SEWE300B break in and partly playing because I love this album and it for me what I think a great cocktail is for some others. Sounds great!

For me 2 and 3 were great. It's just 5 that was so. . . forced .
