Because I don't think it was recorded on anything Sony has ownership of.

I don't think you'll ever get there. . . not sure there's a Sony version.
-
I'm not certain but I think this is it as far as recordings.

I follow one thread on that forum that I started for jazz conversation. I venture with light footsteps into other areas. . . . Great news! In the recent past I haven't gotten shipping notices and even had to inquire whether my order was ready to ship--having to do with PayPal orders I believe. Good to hear it is shipping so soon! -
Joe Henderson “Double Rainbow: the music of Antonio Carlos Jobim” Verve cd This is an excellent cd in every way. Joe plays both so forcefully and so gently in his unique way, and when this came out was when I first realized what a badass Eliane Elias is. Herbie Hancock is equally wonderful here.

What first turned me on to music in the way it is central to my life now was discovering Jimi Hendrix due to "Hey Joe" and "All Along the Watchtower" hitting the radio, and that sense of joy and exploration in the music Jimi crafted led me to really go deeply into jazz. As I get older I begin to realize that there is something I sense in music that I am attracted to and even obsessed with that has that joy and excitement of exploration as an important component. And I can find it in The Mound City Blue Blowers or the Duke Ellington Orchestra or Archie Shepp's Impulse work or Keith Jarrett's ECM work or many Brazilian artists. My answers would speak of a tradition of jazz as containing vital elements that can be revisited over and over with joy and an excitement to experiment and improvise.

I can see that would impact buying indeed. I'm at a different position. I protected my hearing as much as I could when playing in bands and practicing drums, and my hearing has pretty much remained the same since I stopped doing that thirty years or so ago. And my system -- where I throw as much mad money as I can at any time -- is more and more both revealing and musical and I can hear the differences between masterings etc. and enjoy doing so. I'm at the apex of my collecting though, and have instituted a loose attrition policy on re-buying music I already have. So after doing some comparisons I anticipate selling the Clark Japanese cds I've retained. I'll have the fun of doing the comparisons and will probably fund a lot of the box set this way. I enjoy listening to the way that digital has improved over the decades. There are great discs from every period of digital growth. We live in a great time for audio. Hopefully this week I'll receive an amp I paid for over the 21 months I was on a wait list. I find few things more exciting than getting a new stereo component to experience. -

I do too, but as the Henderson and Mobley sets had better sound than the individual cds I have had I pre-ordered this set as well. I get that "sound" doesn't matter to some, but with the way my system shows me how each mastering sounds. . . for me it does. -

Of all these. . . I'm only on facebook. It started out because in some senses that was the best way to keep up with family. And it's grown to be a place where I can read about politics in a "private group" and find some interesting musical info. I only have a basic phone that does not connect to the internet, so any social media is only when I have the laptop open, and I have forums to go through first, and often don't get to facebook before closing the laptop.
