  1. I looked over the discography again and I'm very excited to hear this set!
  2. Art Pepper, Kyoto, 1981
  3. An excellent new release. Walter Smith III “Three of us are from Houston, and Reuben is Not” Blue Note cd
  4. Patricia Brennan “Maquishti” Valley of Search cd
  5. Red Garland Trio "Swingin' at the Korner: Live at Keystone Korner" Elemental 2 cd set, disc 1 Swingin' indeed.
  6. Blowing the cobwebs out of my brain this rainy morning. Archie Shepp “Yasmina A Black Woman” BYG Actuel cd
  7. Sounds like the set will do well for Mosaic. . . and thus a good donation to https://www.hfotusa.org/mission/ I will await an email and have so much to listen to in the meantime!
  8. Archie Shepp “Blase” BYG Actuel cd A somewhat unusual Shepp recording. Been a long time since it was spun!
  9. The rain picked up! Neil Young & The Stray Gators “Tuscaloosa” Reprise cd I really love “Time Fades Away” and this recording from earlier on that tour is very good. I love Buttrey’s drumming. 1080×1080 74.4 KB
  10. Just a gentle whispy rain this morning. I’ve gotten used to the chill in the air, but Lucinda put the heat on and I’m not complaining! Starting off with an excellent compilation cd of two 1972 Stitt powerhouse recordings with Barry Harris at the piano. Sonny Stitt “Endgame Brilliance” 32 Jazz cd
  11. Glad your power is restored Dan!
  12. "Bettered" may be personal taste and system dependent. To me the Wilder set sounds better on my system. . . I think that ADC equipment may have improved in the time in between. The Columbia set contains the live album and a second live disc of previously unreleased material from the live album: The Complete Woody Shaw Columbia Albums Collection (6 CDs): 1. Rosewood (1977) 2. Stepping Stones (1978) 3. Stepping Stones Bonus Tracks 4. Woody III (1979) 5. For Sure! (1979) 6. United (1981) The Mosaic set contains: Columbia JC 35309 - Woody Shaw - Rosewood. * Columbia JC 35977 - Woody Shaw - Woody Three. * Columbia FC 36383 - Woody Shaw - For Sure!. * Columbia FC 37390 - Woody Shaw - United.
  13. Oh I generally love his singing, and think he's a master. . . but in this instance, a return to touring after a long spell and in front of a loud band, and trying something new, I don't think I'll dig it over 27 cds.
  14. Keith Jarrett/Gary Peacock/Jack DeJohnette “Always Let me Go” ECM disc 2
  15. I would just say be patient. It took seven days for me to have power restored a few years ago, and that was not even in a hurricane or tornado. With all the destruction crews from all over the country will be working and it is going to take time.
  16. Finishing up the fourth disc of the Bob Dylan “1974 Live” box set. This is going to be a slog to get through, this box set. I like the music okay. . . but his singing style this tour bugs me a bit. Now on to Grateful Dead “Friend of the Devils: April 1978” box set, sixth show, disc 1 Contrary to the Dylan I’m really enjoying this box set, I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed 1978 Dead this much before, in part because of the excellent sound.
  17. Rain, probably the remants of Milton sweeping our way. . . all night thunderstorms. Starting to let up. Wish I could sleep more! But listening is nice. . . the system sounds SO good. Mino Cinelu, Kevin Eubanks, Dave Holland “World Trio” Intuition Records cd 600×601 67.9 KB
  18. NO. I have both. The material is not identical (more in the Columbia set) and the sound imo is better in the Columbia set.
  19. Rain! Makes it a little difficult to listen to this delicate recording but I’m perservering–we need this rain. Keith Jarrett/Gary Peacock/Jack DeJohnette “Always Let me Go” ECM disc 1 Like Changes and Changeless this is not a “Standards” release. Great sonics!
  20. Bob Dylan and The Band "The 1974 Live Recordings" disc 4
  21. 1m Bobby Hutcherson “Dialogue” Blue Note Japan 85th Anniversary UHQCD
  22. Artie Shaw “The Last Recordings: Rare & Unreleased” Music Masters 2 cd set, disc 1 Beautiful chamber jazz.
  23. Grant Green “The Latin Bit” Blue Note Japan 85th Anniversary UHQCD Wow. The guitar presence and percussion here are so well displayed. I love the 24 Bit by RVG version as well. . . they are both subtly different but amazing listens.
  24. Blossom Dearie “Discover Who I Am: The Fontana Years 1966 - 1970,” 2 SHM-CD set, disc 2 550×550 50 KB What a personality and artist she was.
