Mosaic Records is releasing a Savory collection set
jazzbo replied to ghost of miles's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
With my response I was responding to the query above about overlap between the Basie/Young Mosaic set and the upcoming Savory set, noting that the Basie material from the Basie/Young set is not duplicated on the Savory set. -

There's no overlap--both are completely different and separate material. -

A happy circumstance. Guess there's life in those old Mosaic bones yet. -
Whenever there are major changes in my system (now it's the inclusion of a ZROCK2 and the new firmware for the DSD) I end up listening closely to this recording. . . I know it so well that it reveals "the state of the art" of my system clearly. And it's such amazing music.

Listening again to this excellent date from Paul Jeffrey. This is my favorite of his albums and I'm glad to have this cd version to replace a record that is noisier than I'd like. Some great writing, playing and arranging. Paul Jeffrey "Family" Mainstream Records/Solid Records Japan

Congrats Joe! Neat new cover. -
There won't be any surprises for someone who has been collecting Miles (official and unofficial) for a few decades. But of course I'm getting a set.

Wow. This one is going to be stuck in my transport for a while! I love Jobim and this has excellent arrangements and playing and mood. . . from excellent musicians. EXCELLENT sound as well, which is expected from Adventure Music Records. Mario Adnet and Paulo Jobim "Jobim Orquestra y Convidsdos'

I'm with you. Over the years I've cooled to much of Mr. Fuller's playing. I do business with cdjapan all the time and get "points" that translate to a lot of the shipping cost going away so it doesn't seem that expensive to me. especially as it's UHQCD. I too have the material from "elsewhere" (via a saint). If this had come out in the US (like the Miles, Monk, Bu, Brownie of a few years ago) it would be about 25. . . . Not sure if it's coming out in the US though. Probably. It's Coltrane on Blue Note, corn fed animal to take to market.

Beautiful sounding cd from bossa trombonist Vittor Santos--"Renewed Impressions" on Adventure Music.

I have a handful of UHQCDs pressed in Japan this year and last and it may be system dependent but they sound really good on my system. So at least the discs should sound good. Probably decent alternates too.
