Maybe it is a Japanese tweaking of the US mastering for the 3 cd set. Who knows. . . as Buddy Miles might say. It is from 1996. .. like the US set.

I got mine via amazon. . . .just look for "Thelonious Monk Piano Solo 2017" . . it's cheap.

I think the bonus material is in surprisingly good sound and really the accompaniment doesn't matter much, Monk is clearly "on" and having a good time and it's a good listen.

I ordered five discs (four Impulse! and one RCA Living Stereo) and the shipping was 14.25 total. Not good, not the worst.

I guess if the saw solo is on this new one, it's a new mastering. . . .

I ordered this new Lighthouse SHM-CD and will receive it in the near future. I did get the new SHM-CDs of "Standards" and "Caramba," and they do not appear to be new masterings, but repressings on SHM-CD of previous Japanese releases.

I don't know what I was thinking Erwin, just counted wrong I guess (part of me thinks at the time I thought one of these was not a Clark composition.) Thanks for the correction. I haven't directly compared the SACD and the new Solid release I received last week, but the latter sounds really good.
