  1. Thanks for the headsup! I didn't like this movie but I do like the Hamilton record.
  2. The way I think of this is: Miles was a strong leader and he knew what he wanted very clearly and he got what he wanted. . . so the way the trio was playing was what he wanted. The way the tenors were playing . . . at some point became what he didn't want, or possibly so.
  3. Well me too. Last night I listened to the new remastered cd from the new box set. Very well remastered.
  4. Shabaka and the Ancestors "Wisdom of the Elders." One of my favorites from the last few years. And it will really make your system shine.
  5. Lucinda Williams, "This Sweet old World" redone. out today.
  6. Miles Davis "In A Silent Way" Mobile Fidelity Lab SACD.
  7. There is enough for a big box if you include Manchester Hall, England, Stockholm, Sweden and Paris, France. The Paris sessions were released as individual cds in France. The Manchester Hall were out on bootleg a few decades ago. I think the Stockholm were on separate cd from the Trane in the past as well.
  8. Yes, this is being released here in a week. I'm looking forward to it!
  9. Blu-Spec CD2. Sounds very good.
  10. Keith Jarrett and Gary Burton, Atlantic SHM-CD
  11. Miles Davis, "In A Silent Way" Mobile Fidelity Lab SACD. Not competing too well with the chain saw as more tree work is done here, but I'm still enjoying it.
  12. Sinatra Society of Japan (Japan) XQAM-1648 DSD mastering that sounds very good indeed.
  13. The most recent Japanese cd of the collaboration between John Lewis and Helen Merrill, "Django." Wow.
  14. Disc 1. Very nice collection of influential recordings!
  15. That's likely this one here. . . long available. . . . http://www.freshsoundrecords.com/wynton-kelly-albums/1732-live-at-the-left-bank-jazz-society-baltimore-1967-2-cds.html
  16. Yes, bluenotesound is Mr. Cuscuna himself. I really enjoy the Beehive set. . . I'm not really much of a Hartman fan but I even enjoy his album therein.
  17. Yes, I have a copy on the way via Jazz Messengers, I've never seen this material in circulation and was certain it would be very interesting. Thanks for the preview.
  18. I'm in the same situation, even before the announced problems I had been buying all the sets I wanted and there was nothing in print that I needed to purchase. I may get a set or two as Xmas presents when the present-deciding and -buying season begins. . . or may not. . . we'll see. I wish Mosaic well, the best really.

  20. I got excited and confused for a moment. . .these newly listed ones on the page aren't "Concord" boxes. . .alas, those would be more interesting perhaps.
  21. Gorgeous. I forgot how beautiful Rosa Passos albums are and am digging them out to listen to.
