  1. Glad to hear it was a great one. Many more happy happy returns!
  2. Second snow of the year so far, first time it stuck and stayed over night. It's going to be a long cold winter for this lonely transplanted Texan.

I spun "Hard Rain" on the disc while doing some housework and didn't notice glitches. It's one of my least favorite Dylan releases. Nice set; the newly remastered discs sound considerably improved to me from their earlier counterparts.
  4. I canceled my amazon.co.uk order and placed an order with a US marketplace seller who indicates it is in stock and . . . cheaper than my preorder price. Probably will get it quicker.
  5. R, hope things are better. Many happy returns!
  6. I have the Complete Sony Perahia box set and really enjoy it, especially the five dvds, my Dad and I watch those. Was not at all expensive and it's an amazing box set! http://www.amazon.com/Murray-Perahia--First-40-Years/dp/B008NBEY3C/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1384122682&sr=1-1&keywords=Murray+Perahia
  7. The Blue Note XRCD24 that I own sound fantastic. I bought the first three Sade releases on Blu-Spec2 CD because the price was right and I wanted to check them out. They sound very very good, I've never heard these sessions sound this good in digital. These are unnecessary purchases if you have the material elsewhere and are not chasing great sound. But they can be rewarding if you can do them justice with playback and like comparisons, etc. Or (which is an additional reason for me) you wish to have definitive versions of favorite items.
  8. Seems to me that they are keeping the artwork in line with the previous issues in their live releases of this century, the other Monk (sort of), the Silver and Hubbard (more closely). I like it fine
  9. You started late, but you get to listen to so much great music for the first time!
  10. I bought it when it came out It sat unplayed a long time but I've been spinning it more the last few years . . . always absorbing.
  11. Seems drinking one beer is the ticket. And that's about what I drink when I do drink.
  12. Whole lot of Yo Yo cheap https://www.deepdiscount.com/cd/Yo-Yo-Ma-30-Years-Outside-The-Box-90cd?pjxsource=pepperjam&pjxaffiliate_id=43737&pjxclick_id=725962083
  13. Looks like it's going to be a great set. Thanks e!
  14. I love them both too. One reed player I wish played the bass clarinet more often was Buddy DeFranco. And I wish my Dad had played it longer, he played it during his high school years only.
  15. Fascinating. Waller was a giant who was taken too soon. I'm going to play some Fats later for my Dad and I later today (my Dad is a big fan).
  16. Yes, the Dylan box is a well-done set.
  17. Thanks for the info. My status is "Shipping is Prepared." Looking forward to it (though I have dozens of discs to listen to ahead of it in my diminished listening time periods).
  18. Hope all is well and that it's a great day!
  19. Many many happy returns!
  20. Ah, did miss that one. 999 copies. . . may just sell all of those!
  21. Discussion in this thread including some reports of hearing the disc
  22. Worth it for me for the Pigpen material, I'm a big Pigpen fan.
  23. Many many more happy happy returns Paul!
