  1. Thanks guys. Getting Dad ready for an important doctor's appointment and hoping I can hit the road tomorrow!
  2. Many many Happy returns!
  3. Well, I didn't get away by myself, and it took a huge effort to get Dad to bed last night, he practically couldn't move at all. But finally we did get him into bed. We have a doctor's appointment today that hopefully or maybe not hopefully will be telling. I may have to cancel my trip, we'll see. I'm so grateful for the birthday wishes and all the support.
  4. Thanks everyone! My two young nieces decorated a cake for me and were over here to sing for me. My sister arrived from Richmond, VA and both of my brothers have been here today, it's been a great family day. Hopefully I can head over to my place this evening and spin some cds and enjoy some TV ALL BY MYSELF--that will be a great gift. Appreciate all the wishes and I'm looking forward to my road trip--I love to ride cross country, and I'm looking forward to seeing my pals and gals.
  5. Yes Ted, we have one of those. My Mom puts her "necklace" on every day. But. . . she doesn't seem to want or be able to press it. Both of my parents are suffering through dementia. It's really hard for me, but seems to bring them a lot of enjoyment. . . they seem to be able to come up with the most off the wall stuff and live in a daydream.
  6. Yes, and with that Obama dude. And I'm exactly the same age as Billy Bob Thornton, though that's nothing to celebrate.
  7. Thanks gentlemen. Hasn't started off well, having to pick my Dad up off the bedroom floor. Luckily he's like a stuntman and he never is hurt in all his falls, but his luck can't hold out forever. I hate coming in first thing in the morning and finding him on the floor.I can keep him from falling all day long, but not at night when I'm spending the only time I spend at my place, asleep. My Mom doesn't seem able to call me or consider it something to do. I sure don't want to spend every night here at their house on top of every day, all day. I've been really stressed out and beside myself quietly inside, but luckily I'm getting a brief respite; my sister and one of my nephews are coming up from Virginia to stay with them ten days or so and Tuesday morning I'm getting on my Fat Bob and heading to Texas to see my gal and my friends and just not be in these four walls for a change. That I am really looking forward to!
  8. Amen.
  9. Happy Birthday Pops!
  10. It shares a thread.
  11. I think you can use A friend calls that Tyler Perry code. I'm going to try it below. . . . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPrZnekCdVI Hmmm. . .guess that doesn't work.
  12. Although perhaps not a "bargain" complete series box sets of "Entourage" are less than half price on both DVD and Blu-ray on Amazon, eligible for prime. They were even cheaper a few days ago, just a bit less than 100 each.
  13. I can dig that. I like this enough to want the deluxe version. Perhaps in time the Blu-ray will be separate, and separate cd version. I can see that happening.
  14. The sound varies I am sure from theater to theater. The sound was very edgy and digitally at the theater I saw the Movie in, excellent sound as always at my house. I don't think the price is TOO out of line for this. . . I pre-ordered the Blu-ray edition.
  15. I've seen this film (on dvd-r, from traders) and it's a hoot! I'm hoping this comes out as a Blur-ray soon. I went to see The Grateful Dead movie when they had it in the theaters a bit ago and honest to gosh both picture and sound were better at my home than in the theater!
  16. I've only heard a few of them, but they're nice. Art is pretty consistent! And these are good labels.
  17. These are on amazon.fr now, and there's also a Gaslini.
  18. I'm with John and Ed, at the right price I'm there. Haven't seen the price listed yet.
  19. Looks as if we are finally going to get a previously talked about Hancock Columbia/Sony box set: http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/legacy-announces-herbie-hancock-the-complete-columbia-album-collection-1972-1988-217389711.html
  20. Paula Morelenbaum Once I Loved on youtube
  21. I'm enjoying it more as it goes along.
  22. More! Yeah! I like the sound on these sets, but then again I have a treble cut circuit that is outside the signal path on my amps that helps me enjoy a lot of recordings much more than if the circuit were not there. Looking most forward to the Murray and Bley.
  23. Some of the comments are disturbing. Which is not unusual, and probably not even worth mentioning.
