The way I hear it Peacock brings a very different solo voice to the music than Jarrett does, less lyrical and rhapsodic and more cerebral and mathematical if you will,* offering a contrasting style to the mix. In tandem with De Johnette he's able to bring differing degrees of swing and groove, and in fact I think Peacock is central to the uniqueness of the trio, adding a distinctness to it. *I don't know if I'm explaining what I mean well, but I've been playing bass more than anything the last few years and that is how Peacock's soloing seems to be to me as opposed to an outright swinging or very melodic soloing.

Oh by the way, I love "Small Town Security," I think it's hilarious.

I can understand that and actually did know that. Still, I'm surprised that I've not really liked a lot of these shows as much as I have, and Person of Interest is the one that I like the most. Right now I'm checking out a series of shows called "What the Ancients Knew" that is very interesting (have seen the episodes about Egypt and India; there are three more to watch.)

Watching some more of Person of Interest on blu-ray early in the morning and late at night (when I'm home). This show suffers a bit from the CBS "keep it simple" formula, but it's really a satisfying watch I must say, the most successful J. J. Abrams vehicle since LOST imo.
