  1. It's in the box set.
  2. Milestone did not own the material until later. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/But_Beautiful_%28Stan_Getz_%26_Bill_Evans_album%29
  3. Some of these tunes may have first appeared on "In Europe Vol. 2" and "Vol. 3." http://www.discogs.com/Thelonious-Monk-Thelonious-Monk-In-Europe-Vol-2/release/2561904 http://londonjazzcollector.wordpress.com/2012/09/11/thelonious-monk-in-europe-vol-3-1961-riverside/
  4. One of my favorites. Full spectrum MONO.
  5. While looking at old family photos. Like this one.
  6. Nice one Jazzbo - I'm still searching for that one after nearly 40 years of seeking it out ! Picked my copy up from ebay about five months ago. Love this material, have it on cd but wanted it on vinyl.
  7. Very sorry to hear about the damaged box. I'm sure Mosaic will send you a replacement.

  10. What an amazing musician Albert was. Great post and thread ep1strophy. The Revenant box was such a huge boon to Ayler fans. Even though I had much of it there were exciting portions I had not heard before. I really like the material with Samson. Lately I've revisited "Live on the Riviera" which hadn't really touched me before, and I'm really enjoying this final period of Ayler, and thinking about what that may have developed into.
  11. I think with the cover they're going for a "bootleg" look and succeding.
  12. Adrian, it's the latter, these are all recordings that were released or authorized by either the Jazz Workshop label that Charles started and sort of put Sue in charge of, or by a production sort of set-up Sue later started called East Coasting. For the most part Sue had these source tapes in hand it seems, which is not the case I bet with the other European recordings. I'm not sure about the legal claim that Sue may have of the other recordings from this European tour. I would imagine that she has a clear claim and it's possible that we'll see more released "officially" in the future. We can hope.
  13. Okay, thanks John. I don't care about numbering other than an indicator of how many units sold, now we don't have that info from the numbering. I do see more initial comments online about this set than a few other recent sets and I have a feeling it got quite a lot of pre-orders. Just a feeling though. Still would love to see more 1964 Mingus from Mosaic.
