  1. Huh. I have that one too. Doesn't have the interview though. (I found a reason to have the Classics as well--rationalization is a collector's necessity). And yes the Classics are getting harder to find, especially affordably, though some I see now and then are cheap--less popular or known artists. . . .
  2. This material was also in the Chronogical Classics series of Ellington cds, "1933" https://www.discogs.com/release/26438309-Duke-Ellington-And-His-Orchestra-1933

  10. Yes, they are quite good. Now. . . . A big storm passed through two hours or so ago. About half the blooms on our dogwood have been dashed to the ground. No damage that I have discovered yet however. Going to be a mild day, I think. Starting off with a newly arrived cd from Lauren Henderson, “Musa.” Great choice of tunes, and nice, nice, nice. What a sensuous voice.
  11. When I first started collecting LPs this one was all over. I had already started collecting Miles records so I never picked this up, knowing I was going to get all the albums separately. But a friend had this and it would be spun during some partying.
  12. I get that but the solos and melodies are worth it for me. I have a lot of the Mercer material on Chronogical Classics cds.

  17. Starting off a beautiful morning with a disc I have not spun in a while. I need to get more Weber Iago. Such an interesting writer and pianist. Weber Iago “Os Filhos Do Vento: Children of the Wind” Adventure Music cd This is more classical than jazz . . . pastoral, evoking vivid texture.
  18. I have and really enjoy the six cd complete set, but someone gave me this promo sampler. . . and wow. Wow. This is a great disc, a great summation of the set. “Things Ain’t What they Used to Be” right where it is is very effective.

  20. Yes, I know many artists are not offering cds now. I don't do audio on a computer so I'm not going to be buying WAV files . . . probably not. It is tempting to get all of Ms Henderson's catalog at once, but my luck with downloading and burning cdrs etc. has not been good the last few years and I will probably forego the files route. I'll investigate her music via cds as I see fit to spend the money.
  21. Jefferson Airplane “Crown of Creation” Culture Factory cd Great to listen to this music from my long ago past.
  22. Chet Baker “My Funny Valentine” Pacific Jazz/EMI Norway 2 cd set, disc 2 This is a 2 cd set from Norway.
